175 or similar Model Questions

I have a 175 Hydro with a Kawasaki engine. The motor makes quite a bit of valve/ticking noise, is that normal? Also there is a pretty loud rattle kind of noise coming from the bottom of the engine. Sounds like a hollow/pulley type rattle/noise. Any ideas on this model? Are there any common sources of noise or problems on these tractors or similar models? thanks for any help

It's impossible to discuss "noises" without hearing it, but the valves might need adjusting.

I would say to take the belt off the PTO and see if this changes anything for the noise underneath.
If not, then you could take the drive belt off, which would be harder.

If you can isolate the noise you can then decide on replacement or not.
