Shipping services - riding mowers

I need help finding private or company shippers to transport a used riding mower from upstate New York to the DC area - that don't charge an arm and a leg!

Good luck. You are going pay by the mile no matter what it is. You are really needing to find someone with a back haul.

Other option is to rent a Uhaul.

I've had good luck with ABF. Palletize it and take it to your nearest dock. They have dock to dock service (by far the cheapest) or door to door ( way more expensive). The other option is private carrier but with them its a time issue as they need to build a route before before they can justify the expense and that could take months.

Try uShip.com. Be sure you have an accurate weight and measurements. Fully describe what you are shipping. Is it running? Can it be driven? The more info you give the better. Wait till the end of the auction before choosing a transportation provider. You may find someone willing to haul it for just gas money to get back home.
