JD 320 stalls when engine gets hot/warm

Pulling my carb off and cleaning it out really good did the trick for me.

Also, my fuel filter is always 1/4 full...the dealer said this is normal.

That is what I will do next. It has turned cool in N KY, so it may be awhile before I can see the results. Thanks - I'll try to remember to update either way.

I had the same problem with my 320 2 years ago. It was so annoying, I went and bought a 335 just so I could mow my lawn while working through it. Two of us had the same issue at that time. What worked for both of us was cleaning the pin the carb float is on. We had a small burr on that shaft and caused the float to stick, after awhile gravity set in and opened it back up. It's worth the additional 3 minutes to try it if you are cleaning the carb anyway. I used a piece of scotch brite to clean it up, but sandpaper would work fine

Thank you to those who posted in this thread. I had the same issue with my 320. I ordered a carburetor from Amazon (the one with the best reviews), replaced the fuel line and filter, and the o-ring in the elbow to the air filter. It ran more the 50 minutes the first time mowing with no issues.
