I laughed for ten minutes when I read the article. :laughing:

Sometimes news stations set themselves up for this type of fail. It's great to see someone keeping them on their toes.

KTVU is my local Station and based in Oakland CA.

They are known for having top local news and not copycat reporting from the big 3.

I couldn't believe it until I saw the video...

Not a lot of print coverage or mention on ABC, NBC or CBS local affiliates.

I have a good view of both Oakland and SF airports and the smoke could be seen for many miles.

Not to make light of a tragic accident.....but it's hard to believe this TV Station fell for this trick.....somebody is in big trouble.

I'm actually surprised these "names" weren't announced by CNN and MSNBC. Of course, those "news" agencies were probably too busy editing 911 tapes to screw another innocent person.

Damaged by a report? Perhaps it was damage by, as someone on Pprune so eloquently put it, "They took a perfectly functioning aircraft in severe clear wx with an 11,000 foot runway and still managed to break it."
