Tractor
Kubota (2010)M7040,(2012)M7040,New Holland(2004)TL100
So I am in the market for new tractor and stay under $51,000 but having hard time desiding this time around.

OPTIONS would like
1-Buddy seat
2-85 or more HP
3-4x4 havent really desided on this one
4-Loader or could buy one out right next year
5-sync. or hyd shuttle
6- would like highway speed over the 15/16mph I have now

Thats just off top of my head right now, just looking for some suggestions besides going to the dealers again and messing with them.
Those that dont know me run cow calf operation(400/500acres),round bale my own hay(less than 200 a year 4x5baler).

Well it will depend a lot on just what types of dealers you have around you and how far you will go to buy.

Like is the JD 5085M very much more HP than my 64pto? I am not real familiar with any other JD models besides the 5083E cause I run one for a friend. I like Kubota but have to get a M100gx for buddy seat, the 8560/9960 are nice. I think a model of JD may be interested in but have no info is the 6100D.I am doing some searching on-line but nothing better than my TBN partners for real info.

I wish I had those kinds of options! My closest JD dealer is great on pricing, terrible on service and never returns phone calls. My closest NH dealer is HORRIBLE on OEM parts pricing, I end up driving 2 hours to get better prices so I dont have to deal with those guys. For instance, I bought an entire box of sickle bar knives for my 499 for $1.65 a piece. I got 25 in the box and I figured what the heck, i might as well change all the blades and start fresh. Went to the closer NH dealer and they wanted a dollar a blade more. Couldn't figure out how in the world I got that price from the dealer the day before since their' list price from NH is higher than what I bought them for the day before.

On the plus side though, my closest Kubota dealer is within tractor driving distance!

I would give the 6115D a hard look, should be able to get a 2wd cab with 18.4 38 tires for close to that price. You could get 4x4 for a little more money.

Have you given Kioti a shot? I am ( was) in the market for a new cabbed 60-70 HP tractor and have been very very loyal to Kubota ( 5 pieces of orange equipment) and took a look at a kioti, it has some features I like external 3 pt raise lower, ( which most of the 100 +- tractors have, but was dealing and they could not even come close to kioti's price. Maybe take a look at the kioti 90 hp model Not sure if they have a buddy seat, but the overall fit and finish on the new RX6040pc I am having delivered next week looks just as good as the 3 kubotas I currently have. Do you have any local Kioti dealers??

Cheers

Roger

Yeah have one but they have always been higher than the Kubotas. They don't have the buddy seat and that's highest on list for my 4yr old,the chair in floor board days are over,in rough fields he is just all over and him setting in the seat when baling is difficult for me. Thanks for the suggestion

The 5xxxM series Deere tractors are very nice, well equipped. But I don't think you can get an 85hp model with cab and loader under your budget. But like you said, could skip the loader for now.

I was surprised your Kubota M7040 is that slow on the road. My M9540 runs 22mph.

Yeah 16mph tops, and I drive to the pastures alot would be nice to have a 25mph top out. I will probably go by the JD place next week and just see what my options are,my neighbor offered me cash pay-off for my tractor and 8ft shredder. I would like to have 4x4,cab,loader but with my budget they may not all happen and 2wd will be fine since already going to have the one 4x4 7040,the loader is nice to have a tractor loading at one side and the other un-loading but could make it threw a year and pay the 7/8 grand then for it. The NH powerstar 4.75 is just to small,it has the buddy seat but its out. Pretty much puts me in a DEERE for the options, the 9960 Kubota falls into the price with 4x4,cab,ldr but no buddy seat, there just isnt much choice.

I remember you looking at the 4.75 a while back, and it seems like other than power, you liked it quite a bit. Have you looked at the T4.85 or 4.95? I don't know if they are out yet or not though?
If money were no object for me, I would buy a fully loaded 5085M, however, with the price difference of a T4.75 I will most likely end up going with that instead. I don't know if it's the same with the larger Deere tractors vs. the 4.85/95. Your right though, there really aren't many options with a buddy seat, that is one of my priorities as well. However in my case, I would probably settle with a high HP CUT if it came available with a buddy seat...

I don't think the 5085M would have enough PTO hp for what you want?

So I stopped in and look at the JD and got some prices:eek:, 5085M isn't worth the 15grand for 6 more HP, I may put the 6105D 2wd,cab on list $51,500,they didn't mention the 5100E to me when I asked what they had with buddy seat option, told me a 5101E,cab,ldr,4x4 $55,250 and get a buddy seat and fit it myself,if I owned a cutting torch:shocked:

Ya those M's are pricey for sure. Did they have a 5100E on the lot? Perhaps that's why they didn't mention that the buddy seat was available as an option, if they didn't have any?

The "luxury" tractors do demand a lot of money, all depends on what you want, more power to the ground or more bells and whistles.

No 5100E on lot, never even mentioned them, not in the brochures either. The D series are alittle more what I'm looking for but I may be in the money range to go ahead a get the M100gx I been wonting. That's a pretty tough descion 6105D or M100GX both 55.

Could a dealer install the buddy seat from a 100GX into a 9960? Not sure what kind of reinforcement plates are required but it might be possible.

The 5083E, 5093E, 5101E, and the new 5100E all can have a buddy seat.

Here is my 5093E with a buddy seat in it. If your dealer said it can't have one you need to go find a new dealer. Call Kevin a Fish and Still in Crockett, TX.

I was talking to a buddy of mine and he also told me to go talk to Kevin. I did get a price in tyler on a 5101E for 55,249 that's 4x4,cab,ldr,air-ride seat and buddy seat(me installing it)
I will have to go look at the 9960 but the 4wd lever if its like my 7040,seats not going to work in them.
