I've been mowing with my BX 2350 a lot lately and as usual, the temp gauge doesn't hit the red, but it does get close. I know this subject has been talked about a lot but I bought one of those point and shoot thermometers last year and tried it out on the BX. I shot the water neck where the radiator hose hooks on, about 190, various places around the engine block, between 160 and 190, even the exhaust manifold and the block near it doesn't get much above 210. Don't touch the muffler though, it gets over 300 degrees.

Maybe talk to the salesman and see if he will cover it under warranty. If not go directly to the sales manager

Nothing to really turn in for warranty work. There are a lot of BX owners that worry when there temp gauge gets close to the red zone, I'm just posting this to show them some of the temps and to say in my opinion, it isn't overheating.

Seems to me there is something to turn in......your temp. gauge. I would definitely have them replace the temp. gauge or it will become a gauge that you really don't pay attention to and then one day it might be overheating, and well....you know the rest! Just a suggestion. :smurf:

Thanks for the temps. So far with about 20 hours on my 2360 I have noticed it go about 3/4 of the way up on the temp gauge while mowing. When I turn the deck off it will go back down to around halfway. After searching some threads, I am comfortable with it. Maybe next time I am mowing I will measure the temps with a thermal gun too.

I notice on my RTV, which has the same motor as the 2360 (just set up different) runs higher than half way too when it is hot out and I've been running it a lot. I just accept that as normal. The dealer says its fine.

On my BX1500 I have just the opposite problem, the temp gauge reads low. It just barely comes up off the bottom.
I also took some temp readings with an infrared thermometer and it showed the same readings that you got.

The B7800 I had was that way. Just a little past the cold mark.

My 2200 always read right at mid range, and recently was running a little high. The gentleman who bought my LA211 last weekend showed me my rad was plugged up behind the battery. I cleaned that out and I'm sure it will run cooler next mow.

Try blowing out the rad with a air gun, and see if that helps. I do that after every mow, and my gauge reads very consistent. I find waxing it helps it run cooler as well, but that may just be me. LOL

You wax your radiator???????? I guess I'll just sell my tractor... :D
