I have been reading this thread with interest as I have a bx25. I even made some light protectors close to the same design. Now that the conversation has turned to aviation, Wow! Love the old warbirds!
I also started with r.c. followed that with getting my A&P and my private pilot license. Spend the whole week @ Oshkosh AirVenture every year. Have 2 Pipers in pieces in my garage. A Clipper and a Tripacer. Bx right next to them. Airplanes are addictive! Need to stay away from bx long enough to work on them though!

Have you looked at the cardstock models over at fiddlers green? A bit crude compared to other methods but they do have some interesting stuff. Like the Gigant for example. Some of them can be built to fly.

Wow. Never even heard of the place. Thanks.

Ok. Lets see your light protectors  I like seeing photos too! Had another guy on another site said he made made a set but never showed them. By looking at different designs we can come up with the perfect one.
I think my wifey knows that if I got my private license the next thing I'd have is the plane so she's smart enough to see a few steps ahead of me. Newfoundland is a very different place to fly small aircraft as well. My brother in law just retired from Air Canada and piloted Boing's for years and told my wife he wouldn't even fly small aircraft here so that kind of put the brakes on my plans BUT I'm not giving up. I ALWAYS have a plan "B" :D

Here a photo that works well for us protecting the front light & hood... save me a few times.

I'm sure you will improve on this. Keep up the great work....

That looks good, but I don't know, that mesh may block too much light from the headlights for 4shorts, since, you know, he doesn't have much in the way of lights on his tractor!

4shorts, that video of your lights is impressive!
