Hard Hydraulic Line Snapped

Hi All

Got a new Changfa a couple of days back and whilst doing some light grass slashing, hydraulics failed on the bucket as I was lifting it to see ahead of my track.

I noticed a funny smell, stopped, looked on the ground and saw a pool of green/yellow liquid forming underneath.

After a closer look, it appears that a hard hydraulic line has sheared straight through. There's no bends or kinks, just a clean snap.

I'm hoping this picture gets attached... pic should be rotated 90 deg right.

It looks like a pretty vulnerable position for the pipe but I couldn't see anything underneath that would cause the pipe to snap like that.

Is it normal to run pipes like this? Is there a better solution when trying to get it fixed?

All thoughts and comments welcome.

Bit disappointing for new machine but I've never had one before, so perhaps this is life?!

You might be better off cutting the tubing off leaving a bit for these to grab and using something like this tube compression fittings - Hydraulic Supply Co. and adapting to a conventional hydraulic hose. Or removing the tube completely and replacing the complete run with hose, hard to tell without an overall view.....Mike

Thanks Mike, I got the steel tube part replaced in the end. It enabled me to better position the hose and run it in a safer way.
