BX23 3 point hitch problems

I have a BX23 and the three point hitch arms are stuck in the up position. Has anyone had this problem before? I bought the tractor used and just got the backhoe off don't know how long it has had the problem.

Sounds like something is hung up, maybe the lift arms for the MMM

Sorry i am new to tractors what is the MMM?

Mid mount mower. There are two arms under the tractor that drop down with the 3 point arms. It is what raises and lowers the deck if you have one.

The mower lift can be locked in the up position...maybe that locks the 3pt as well.

On my BX there is a knob that locks the MMM to the top or adjust how high the cut,, there is another knob in the same general location by the floor that controls the speed the 3 point hitch arms come down and if the Knob/valve is completely closed the lift arms will stay in the up position. open this valve and the arms should come down, open it all the way and they will come down fast..
