What is the normal idle speed?

What does your owners book say? I know 4 cylinder Kioti idles at 800

My Mahindra idles about 800 as well. After I start it I set to 1000 for a few minutes to warms up. I'm sure the is an adjustment to slow yours down if your owners manual specs show it should be lower.

I just read the manual from cover to cover and there is nothing in it about idle speeds.

The only diesels I have ever used are in big trucks and they idle around 600-750rpm.

don't you find that 1,000 is a tad high?

I like it at 1200 to start and sit, 1300-1400 to roll around in a low gear, work at 1500-1800, heavy work at 2000. The sound of the tractor lets me know.

Mine idles around 1,000 as well. Will have a look next time to see how close to 1,000 it is.

The tach on the LK3054xs has idle speed hash mark at 800/850 rpm. I find that a little low(don't like the sound of the engine at that low a rpm)so I bumped mine up to 1000; sounds a lot better to me

That's fine for driving but you need to keep even 'big trucks' at 1,000 or more if idled for long periods to prevent cylinder wash down

Both my CK30 and DK45 idle(d) around 1000. I warm it up at 1200 as specified in the manual.
