Anyone know the advertised fuel consumption of a M7040 pulling a load? I pulling a 6 shank Hay King pasture renovator in hard soil and my tractor likes the fuel. 6 hrs use and one better be looking for storage tank.
...Kubota doesn't elect to have their tractors tested at Nebraska.
University of Nebraska tractor test show GPH under different load situations plus HP hrs per gallon. But Kubota doesn't elect to have their tractors tested at Nebraska.
The state of Nebraska is the only state that the tests are required for the sale in that state. The tests are quite expensive for what the market is there for a small number of sales meaning the people from other states would have to pay for it.
What you state is true but for ""many years many brands"" of tractors have been tested at the University of Nebraska. So I guess many people from many countries have been paying for the INFORMATION.
Agreed.
The Nebraska tractor tests have been the gospel of tractor performance data for decades. I am astonished to learn that Kubota chooses not to submit their tractors for testing.
If they plan to play in the big sand box they will need to do so.

I know my M7040(23.8 gal. cap) uses more than a gallon an hr pulling a 9 ft disc cutter. It was filled up at 10AM and I had to take fuel to it at 7 PM because the low fuel light was flashing
The 9540 isn't as bad.. but I would love to have enough fuel to not have to watch the tank..
I don't put much stock in the nebraska test. I know a guy that bought a 50hp tractor in the 90's. It was tested at Nebraska. It was low on power. The dealer dynoed it and it made 28hp. They tested 3 new tractors on their lot and they made 28hp.
