Anybody know what happened to this other forum? I had it bookmarked to look at some DIY stuff on CADTRAC builders and other stuff, but now it is missing from the 'net.

Shortly after I discovered Machine Builders Network they stopped accepting new members. I missed the cut. It sure was an informative site, though. Hopefully someone can point us in the right direction.

Really?! Restricted membership?!

I have been a lurker on MBN for many years, but I never post, so I never
registered. It has moved to "kramerville.net" and has only about 600 registered members.

I've been a member of MBN for several years. When they changed over to the new site everyone had to re -register at the new site. As far as I know they are taking new signups at the new site. I tried to access the old site a coupla days ago and none of the links would work. That's where most of the info is still. I'm hoping they'll have everything moved over before long. Keep trying and good luck. George

Just checked.

There is nothing at "kramerville.net"

Maybe the owner of it hangs out here?

Actually it IS there, but with a sub-name. Do a google search and it comes up. I will not post it here because I guess they had bad spam problems before.

I think it was the King of Obsolete. Last I heard he was sick with a virus. Last post he made was in late 2010 early 2011

Yup Joey - King of Obsolete. I think he may drop into redpower every so often.

Machine Builders Network - Forums powered by UBB.threads™

That's strange because after searching for the site I found it again and since I was not a member at the time I signed up and got a membership right away. This was just in the past few days. It's a great site and I used to go there quite often and read the threads....well maybe not as great as this one but a good one just the same. Try it again and see what happens.

They actually weren't restricting new members. While upgrading the site and changing the hosting (and URL), they weren't taking new members on the original web site, but rather they were taking the new members on the new web site (which is the URL above).

My old login is long gone.I couldn't log in.I wish I knew they were having problems with the old format.I turned around a couple forums and I would have happily worked on that one to save it.

unfornatly it seems alot of the old site members and projects are permanetly gone...not much going on there compared to a few years ago.. not sure where everyone went to post there builds at

Works the same as ever. SLOW

Mbn would be great with a software upgrade, but ugly and slow = no traffic. Heck, I visit heavy equipment forums and even lawnsite more than machine builders

Well, I for one have had a situation change. I'm on a long term assignment overseas nearly halfway around the world from my shop, Camtrac, and all my other toys and tools......

The MBN site hasn't been the same since Matt K upgraded the software. Not all the archives have made it to the new site... including mine, sigh.

It really burns my @$$ up to put a lot of time in a project and posting it for it to be lost forever.I'm not as out to do long term projects anymore and post them in online forums.I have been slowly moving some of my projects over to blogspot so I have total control over my posts. It helps to have a documented project in case of future problems that need to be fixed. Some of my projects are listed in my sig line below.
