Wow! Ok. I'll try and be just like you guys from now on! Please forgive me. I am so sorry. What else can I say? I'm in tears here. Are we still friends?

I have both John Deere and kubota tractors. If I say I prefer the Deere over the kubota by far, does that make me a brand badger or is that opinion ? I do agree it's not nice to poke fun at kubota but is it really that important? Are we men or little boys on the playground?

My kid set this up for me. He knows how I feel so he gave me that name. Shoulda slapped him but he's alright. Just got back from lowes with 20 cans of Deere paint. Gotta get busy. Not bashing the brand, just saying. Lighten up, jeez

I probaly have come off the same when I got here, when I was a noobie. You just got pick the right threads to do it in and liquid overhauls dont solve the problem,it just adds, cause now your gonna have to explain to your friends were you got the badazz JD. Just start a new profile and get rid of that awful name:D

Alot of that depends on how you say/word it?

If you say something like "I have both a JD2320 and a 'bota b2320 and I prefer the deere" (and list a few reasons) then absolutly not you are not bashing.

BUT, if you have a deere and have a kubota and come across as deere being better across the board as a brand in whole...IE: if you were to say "I have owned both a kubota and a JD, and John Deere's are better and kubotas are junk" (refering to the brand and not A SPECIFIC model) then absolutly that is bashing.

Are we men or little boys on the playground?

We are all MEN here, but who are the ones who go around and say "mines better than yours....no mines better..." is that Men or boys on the playground??

We like to have a good time here and share USEFULL information. A new member (stranger) comes on and just plain bashes one of the most respected brands.....that dont sit too well.

Kinda one of those touchy things. Kinda like joking with friends. You might say something to a good buddy like "Hows your wife and my kids doing", but would you say something like that to a stranger you just met?? As with everything, there is a time and place for it. With 10 posts and in this thread, was the wrong time and wrong place for it.

And while I would certainly never bash another brand, there are times where we do like to kid and joke around and have a good time with those of us who have been around here awhile. Like me giving James (k0ua) a hard time about his recent trade in of his kubota for a kioti. He knows I am not serious and its all in good fun. But someone with 10 posts, we just dont know eachother well enough to have them "jokes"....yet.

Just my :2cents:

Certainly doesn't make you a basher, as you stated your preference rather than putting forth as fact "John Deere is better than Kubota", it would be equally offensive to reverse that to "Kubota is better than John Deere". "In my opinion" or "I prefer" is an entirely different proposition.

As to Are we men or little boys on the playground?, in my opinion, men discuss such matters intelligently with due respect for others while kids on a playground call names, bash and belittle, so I guess some of us are men and some little boys; in my "opinion mind you.

I think it also matters that this is specifically the Kubota sub-forum. It'd be one thing if it was the Front Porch, but it seems like bad form to come into the Kubota forum, on a thread that is having a useful conversation about Kubota, just to interject "Nyah nyan Deere is better." It'd be one thing if KubotaKarl had a history of being useful, or if he had said something useful first. But he doesn't and he didn't. He didn't do anything except poke his head in the room and say "Nyah nyah Deere is better." This isn't about not having a thick enough skin to take a little good-natured ribbing. Saying, "I'm going to paint all my orange tractors green," isn't really clever, funny, or even original.

I think some people have a hard time taking correction, and Kubotakarl may be one of them. At this point, he said sorry (post #81) and even if it was a little sarcastic, I'm willing to take it as sincere and move on.

Count me in:thumbsup:

Lets hope this can be a learning experience for him and us, and hope this isnt repeated many times in the future like the prior mentioned member: case245:confused2:

Did you lose your sense of humor recently or has it been gone for awhile? C'mon man. Chuckle once in awhile. Poke fun at yourself and others. Life's short. Enjoy!! I'll try to keep my color choice to myself from now on.
Well, I like green too. Im planning on painting my Mahindra when it gets too pink.
