Above was yesterday and night.

Today. Found a used echo coill on another used chainsaw guys shelves local. We have fire and runs.

Wow now that is customer service from the online echo place. I received a phone call that the switch would have to be back ordered and it was looking like 2 weeks out date to get in right now. Then after that I received a email stating the same and they wanted to know what I would like to do next.

I called back and decide to drop the switch and ordered another part instead with my order. They will get my echo business from here on. Right here in Ohio too. ;D

So after that I decided I would make my poulan 3400 switch work in the echo.

Opened up ground wire O that switch goes through and the plastic housing where switch goes through. All done and works like a charm.

Hey if you locate any 3900 coils down your way in the piles let me know. This coil went dead too.

Here is how the coil replacement works for echo. Up to 10 years after the saw was last made. In this case 3900 was made till 1993 so the coil warranty was good to 2003

email straight from echo.
ECHO products feature a lifetime warranty on the ignition module. ECHO's liability under the "Lifetime" coverage is limited to furnishing parts for "Life" free of charge for a period of ten (10) years after the date of the complete unit's final production. The lifetime warranty is extended to the first original retail purchaser and is not transferable to subsequent owners. The ignition module must be tested and replaced by an authorized servicing ECHO dealer. *Rental units do not quality for lifetime warranty

I must just be stupid :confused2:  Least now I have a complete parts saw just missing a coil. :drink:

Well #2 3900 came in today and has a good coil and runs sweet. 16" too.
Figured out why the muffler was burning the chain brake too. Spring that hold handle back was bent out of shape and missing metal stop.

Gents may I ask for an opinion please?

Alls I have is this one picture. If all 3 of these saws
run, what is a fair price for them?

Additionally can anyone ID these puppies?

I'm of no help....all stihls look the same to me.

Putting a price on it is impossible without knowing model #'s. If they are all "homeower" saws....maybe $100ea

If they are pro saws...Sky's the limit. $200-$300ea???

Looks like a 021-025 and a 029 and a 038 maybe. The orange handled homeowner saws $75 to $150 and me personally wouldnt pay that. I hate those plastic saws to work on. JMO

/ Just another junk chainsaw #108
I think the top saw is either an 028 or an 038. not worth much... heavy and old..

The two bottom saws look like the same model... 025 or MS250... again, newer, but all plastic and just an over priced homeowner saw...

here was my project for the week... I ported this sweet little cherry 4-5 years ago and never got it back together (had a burnt p/c). Got a new OEM piston and cylinder and went to town grinding her... she runs really good for a lightweight 60cc pro saw.

A video of cutting up a tree right by my house and put it through her maiden voyage. Stihl RS full chisel chain and 8T rim, set fat for break-in, kinda long video.

Sorry, tried linking them from AS....

on a side note, I picked up two saws today....

Went to my tractor dealer who also sells Stihl saws. i was poking around out back and found this mint husky 50. not bad for 25 bucks. So after nosing through the shop and finding a brand new "used" 25" Stihl 3/8 050 bar. He him hawed around about a price and said to make him an offer. When we all know what they go for.... then as I'm about to throw out a low ball 25 dollar offer, i see this dirty dingy green saw buried underneath the work bench. I said, what about that poulan. He said, that POS? lol give me 50 bucks and you can have it and the bar... I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. This was the first "real" saw my dad had growing up. I remember being very young and getting to use that heavy greenie as we called it. the dealer said it ran when the older guy traded it in on an 029 years ago..

Cleaned her up real quick.... added some fresh gas and she popped right off. I'll clean it up good and give it to dad. To this day he talks about "THAT" saw...

And the husky 50. It has a melted piston and cylinder. I have a nice ported Partner 5000 topend to put on this gem!

Nice 50 and cool on the 4200 for your dad. I just sold my mint almost new JonseredS 490 with heated handles. Need to deliver it at the poulan gtg.

Had these 5 dropped off to fix when the guy picked up his 2 huskys. :drink:

I think XYZ123 has the models about right. Personally I love my 029 - it has been and is a great saw. From what I have seen around here and of course depending on the condition of the saws you have anywhere from $200-500 for the three. It gets real easy to put $200 into a used saw and when a new one is $350 there isn't much market for abused ones.

I was so impressed with this jd 450v I went looking for another echo 4500. They remind me of the OE 346 in the cut rpm weight feel etc. Maybe a little more torque going to the 4500 over OE. Could be the echos 43mm bore and 31mm stroke. :confused3:

First one I took in on trade.

I just found this one that turned out to be a JD too, that took a spill I was told. Broke the muffler studs and had to be re-tapped. Looking for a few parts if you know of any.
Pics as found and sent to me.

From what I understand this is a common issue on these. Weak bar stud area cracking from abuse maybe.

2nd450v008.jpg

This one had taken a fall and broken and bent the muffler studs off in cylinder. Dont know if this fix is going to work by past owner or not. Will see when all the parts show up. Muffler, muffler bolts, gasket, etc.

Appear to be a earlier version then my other 450V. It just had a hand guard instead of the chain brake like my other one. Hand guard on 2nd one was broken off in fall.

2nd450v005.jpg

Really like the piston and cylinder on these. No wonder they run so good.

Well I just could say no as another NE 346xp 2011 fell into my lap sort of.

Heck I could have had its cousin the 2011 353 e-tech for a heck of a deal too. But I was happy just walking away with this one for now. ;)

I'm just not ready for the autotunes without me owning the $250 diagnostic tool myself. Staying old school as long as I can. :drink:

These are pics as bought, no clean up for pics.
