Another 83cc poulan coming together. :licking: Instead of the normal golden yellow on these, I wanted a green one. :p

I'm not into painting chainsaws. But they never made a green version of this saw and I wanted one. Only made in partner and poulan yellow or jonsered red.

Shes not perfect and neither is her owner. But 83cc of poulan is up and running, built from parts I had from parts saws. Used a stihl 066 piston and a partner 5000 coil to replace the ridiculously low rev-limited coil in these.

For now I am using a modfied husky 268 272 clutch cover and a recoil with missing fins till I come across better ones to paint up. The recoil decal was made by my wife to match the green.

My cheap camera dont show the lime green right.

John Deere green paint commands great resale dollars in tractors, why not in chainsaws?

I repaired that recoil over with my redneck idea and then painted them purple and stuck some wild thing stickers on both sides. clutch and recoil.
I also took a better set and painted green and made some green 505 decals for those too.

I seen the 357 and 365 too. All seemed to be decient prices. Likely could have made money just flipping them on ebay.

Too bad I never see any dolmars come up locally.:mur:

I wont flip on FEEbay no matter how much you can get extra over selling local. I sale from my website or other websites or local by word of mouth. Screw FEEbay IMO.

You should post your website, or is that against TBN forum rules? Someone getting a saw from you would know it is rebuilt right.

The 046 with 460 tank in a box and grocery sack dropped off story.

One stihl dealer had it for 2 weeks and gave a estimate of $700 to fix. Another small engine shop had it a month and was close to the same.

So I got a call and the guy drove a hour one way to have me go through his new to him saw. (bought not running from tree service)

I had it a hour figured out why it stopped running and scored 1/4" area in the process. I ordered $100 in parts (including a new DP muffler set up) and that will fix it up. Little more labor and she should be done next week when parts arrive.

Testing is done in a nice piece of solid 14" ash

All saws ran 7T 3/8 and all were set in the 13.4k to 13.7k range. Chain was a fresh square off w8ye square grinder. Rakers were (guessing 27 to 29) just over 25 but less then 30.

2 cuts 14" firm solid fresh take down ash.

372 11.87 11.91 stock no muffler mods.

440 10.94 10.93 stock with muffler mod, DP muffler cover with enlarged side exit hole too.

445 10.13 10.44 stock no muffler mods and still had spark screen installed.

I really thought the 445 was going to be the slowest in the cut as quite as it was and throttle response wise out of cut. Even in the cut I thought it might have been the slowest till the times were being read out to me.

Stihl dealer estimate was $700 to fix and had 2 weeks, another dealer had it for a month. He finally picked up his saw and drove 50mins to me one way to get ut looked at. Had it a hour tore down figured out why it burned up. Gave options on repair, Redneck it, aftermarket, oem. Redneck repaired for a total of $200. $100 was for new parts.

20 mins of test cutting today so far. :bananawiggle:
