Ferris 4500 diesel operating temperature

does anyone know what a good operating temp would be for this unit...my thermostat opens at 181 degrees but unit is at 200+ within 15 minutes (screen/radiator clean, air filter clean, mower deck on but not under big load)

That's way too hot. I start at 125 and never exceed 175 even in 95F+ temps. Average 160F. Seems like something is very wrong with your thermostat or ??? same unit: IS4500 diesel.

Found a similar issue; suggestion was: "With the engine cold and thermostat out, can you see the water circulating in the radiator? If you see no circulation, it is possible that the pump impeller has come off."
