Have you contacted the site administrator or just posted here, I have found the administrator and moderators to be very helpful.

I could do that but as I said before it's gnawing at me. I'm sure that has happened to you.

I would like to add I find it strange that I have zero views of this post and the only responses are from super members. Could be just a fluke, but does seem strange.

Because some of us have been around since before TBN was TBN. We have seen WHY the rules were made in the first place and how the rules have changed over time. I am not an owner, have never met the owners nor am I a moderator. I have had more than one post and thread disappear over the years.

Read the terms and conditions and exercise your rights as you see fit. No issue with that. The administrators are happy to hear from members that have input. Several new "topic" areas have been made at the request of membership based on interests.

But I still don't understand why you think that you automatically should have the same "status" as someone who say- has been here since day one? IMHO, an example of "I want to be a part but it is going to be MY way".

With almost 150000 members, I would think that if there were a significant number with your same concern, it would have changed.

BTW, by your own statement- you don't like what you are reading, why not switch to a different thread?

-posted by a lowly gold member

I posted on a thread all weekend that I found very interesting and they moved it. I can no longer get on. It's not what I can do, it's what I can't do.

What's the thing on 500 posts? What is this forum? Is this like the Petroleum club on the 89th floor that takes a special card to get into? I got an inkling of something like that a while back, but assumed it was an error and they were referring to "The Front Porch", which I believe requires 50.

I THINK when Front Porch was opened, to allow a bit more discourse on certain subjects, the number of posts was 500 which has been decreased to 50 or some such. People still wanted more open discussion so there is another forum that is supposed to be more political and I think it requires 500 posts to access ALONG with moderator/owner permission. I don't really know since I do not participate in that forum and have no desire to do so.

I can get into enough trouble on the forums I do participate.:laughing::laughing: I don't need more opportunities for TBN trouble. :D:D:D

I forgot to mention, I did not ask. Every time I got on they bombarded me with signing up. I did so I did not have x it out every time I got on.

Please- you willing, knowingly, intentionally joined as a member. Nobody forced you to.

I could do that but as I said before it's gnawing at me. I'm sure that has happened to you.

Oh yes- but, I find constructive methods of addressing my concerns, not just arguing with every point that doesn't resemble my own ideals.

Speaking of which, I think I am going to go Gnaw on my dinner now....BBQ Troll!!!:drink:

Well, like I said, none of us have any control over it and I see no problems.

At my age and circumstances, I find it takes quite a bit to "gnaw" at me and forum rules sure ain't even close to one of them.

Good luck with your quest for knowledge and understanding; I will be bowing out.

Update: I have two super members, elite member and platinum members. I guess they don't want anyone else to respond.

Normal Gold member here - I guess that most members (like myself) are more interested in talking tractors that consirecy theories, hence why most of the posts on this thread are by you! Also they are Super / Elite / Platinum members for a reason - they reply to people, even you :welcome:

I have myself been annoyed by the moderators replies and PM's following posts that I have made in the past... but I do respect that Muhammad works very hard setting up and maintaining this forum as a free resource for us all to use. If he wants to apply restrictions, let him - it is after all his website. If you don't like that fact, then follow your own advice and use your keyboard or mouse to navigate away from TBN... Personally, I would rather follow the rules and be able to use TBN and network with it's excellent membership (regardless of their status), then cut off my nose to spite my face over something un-important...

On the upside, if you keep talking to yourself you will soon reach that magic level of 50 posts

How did you get onto the Front Porch anyway - I couldn't do it until I got to 50...

Even the membership "status" based on posts has changed since I joined. I think they made it more fun by ascending "quicker" yet they still obtain their statistics and such. Like any computer application, there is some type of method to control its operation-

I am sure getting a lot of the company line here.

You keep this up and you will have 50 posts.

Tis not the company line since I am not the company. It is what it is and I have been around long enough to have seen these same questions pop up so I figured I would help answer YOUR question.

More than a few people left TBN years ago when the rules were tightened up. Quite a few of the people who left had high posts counts on TBN and had been on this site from the start. They started their own TBN like site and I signed up to see what was happening over there years ago. The new site stunk. The people who I had thought highly of were saying things that were just flat out rude. I was really disappointed in them.

What would you suggest. Please I need the advice of an "gold" member.

Look, I understand keeping politics and religion in a different area, but what is with having to have fifty post to get in? How about you say the front porch is for politics and religion or what ever you want and go there if you so desire. Instead you act like big brother and set up these silly rules for getting there. We are all capable of deciding what content we want to look at.

This is a business. Membership is free, much like Google is free, but there is still revenue. The moderators aren't stupid, they know that by having unruly threads will deter people from their site. Less members, less potential advertising, and less profit.

Personally, if you just want a 'front porch' go join some other site, because this is a tractor forum with a subtopic of general discussions, not the other way around, and I prefer it stay that way.

Ayep, at first the Front Porch was 500 posts to get in, now its 50 posts. From the conversatiosn back when the Front Porch was created, the 50 post requirement is mainly to: 1. Keep those who would join, troll, cause trouble, then disappear out 2. Give people an incentive to get 50 posts (get them "hooked") and help them become a member of the community .

The "Friendly Politics" forum (as far as I know) only requires Front Porch access and a request to Muhammad to be given permission to enter. That (again going off of the conversations when it was opened up) was to allow the vocal group who emphatically did not want to see political posts on TBN to not have to see them.

Look, I am done. It is what it is. I don't like it, but obviously I am the only one that thinks it is silly. I do love this site so I will have to live with it.(it does not sit well with me, but it is not the first thing that hasn't or the last). To those that tried to help, Thank You.

I hear what your saying, but men and women died in this country so we could say what we want when we want.

Men and women died so you could say what you want when you want? Do you think that means they can come into your house and say what they want when they want or even in your front yard or on your front porch? Of do you think you should have the ability to decide what is said and done on your property? A website is private property and the owner has the right to establish the rules. If you think something should be changed, you can sent a PM (private message) to Muhammad who owns TBN. It would then be entirely up to him as to whether he makes the change.

no one has to look at any post they don't want to

EXACTLY! You hit the nail on the head, and of course that includes you. You don't have to look at anything you don't want to.;)
