Just purchased a 2006 L4330. Worked it all day and did fine. I stopped two or three times and re cranked. No problem. When I went back this morning and it does not crank. It will not turn over. It's as if a sensor or something will not let the switch key work.
1. Got it in Neutral
2. PTO is not ingaged.
3. Dash says tractor is in N.
4. Dash says clutch until I clutch it.
5. Only lights that remain on is the battery light and oil light.
6. Battery is fully charged with lights burning bright.
7. Oil is perfect.
8. If I touch HTS it shows on dash. I make sure it does not.

I noticed an extra wire on wiring harness by starter but not sure it goes anywhere. The main wire from battery is hooked up.

As I said the starter does not turn.

What could I be missing.

Do you have power to the starter solenoid when trying to crank it? Do you know of the solenoid is clicking at all?

Do you have to be in the seat for it start? It could be a seat sensor and that wouldn't show on the dash, but I don't know if it does or not.

It is also possible a bad connection. I have seen wires come apart inside the connection at both the battery and the starter. It may show voltage, but no amps get through, but again you should hear the solenoid changing state.

It's like everything is a go (dash lighted) and no click or anything when I complete turning the switch. NO sound. Nothing in the starter or solenoid is activated.

I was reading about a switch under seat that could go bad and someone just jumped it with a pc of wire. I haven't looked to see if I have that.

This is a 2006.

I do see an extra wire unplugged in the neighborhood of the starter but not sure if it goes anywhere. The oil sensor plug above starter is plugged in.

Check the seat switch.

Going to check this morning. Too, I think that plug might go on the solenoid.

The extra wire at the starter is just that, extra. Check the seat switch. If that checks out check all the other safety switches.

1-Check all of the fuses their are several in the start and safety circuit.

2-See if you can start it with HST pedal neutral,, PTO off,, cruise lever off,, Park brake set. Tilt seat all the way forward, Push clutch in with hand and try and start. Do not run your self over..If it starts don't let clutch out..It should not move but you never know. The seat switch has 2 ON positions OPC and PTO.

I've checked everything. Fuses, wires, battery, etc. Only wire is the extra wire at starter. Nothing loose or hanging.

I pushed plastic lever down under seat but no change. I've shifted, push clutch about everything you have mentioned.

Anymore ideas. I really hate to call a mechanic for something that might turn out to be simple.

Not sure I follow you on the tilting seat. Do you mean push down on front of seat or does it tilt up?

Kuboman said to check all safety switches. Where are they?

Tilt the seat all the way forward. This is the position for PTO operation without sitting in the seat ie, irrigation pump.

Other than that you need a 12v test light and a helper,, then begin at the starter and work your way back,, B/W wire on starter to start relay to 30A fuse to key switch.

Other Idea's try and use jumper cables and jump start it with + lead connected right at starter.

If nothing else jump the starter momentarily and see if it hits.

Check your battery to frame ground at the frame..

Or get someone near you to help,, Likely something simple just finding it can be difficult.

Good luck.

Got cranked. Problem was the extra wire. It was the wire that goes to the solenoid. The male end was broken so smoothly at the plastic that it was unnoticeable. The tit was still in the plug.

Now to figure out how to fix it. To crank I made a wire to plug back in the extra wire and had someone touch the brass edge that was on the starter.

I am having exact same problem. Please post if you find out whats going on!

Tractor used to start when not in seat as long as its not in gear and in neutral. So I ruled out seat switch.
