Can anyone recommend an online source when I can buy QUALITY ring terminals, connectors, etc. for 12 volt wiring? The big box stores locally seem to carry nothing but cheaply made crap that bends easily or the vinyl cracks when you crimp something. The attachment shows something I used as a battery tender hookup on my Deere, the ring terminal is bent badly and the vinyl is practically falling off after only a year. Thanks.

The best ones I have found are for marine use - one good company is Ancor. If there is any moisture exposure, the adhesive-lined heat shrink terminals work great - but they can't be disassembled, so make sure that's OK for your application.

I get them here: Terminals

THANKS guys...the sites look great. I would take two TBN members recommendations over 100 Facebook "likes"...sure, some places will show you what they say is customer feedback, BUT I would rather get a reference from someone here.

I don't do a lot of 12 volt wiring but when I do I want it to last a long time.

Yes, marine with built in heat shrink. If you have a West Marine in your town they carry lots of this stuff.

Didn't click the link, but Ancor makes good marine-grade terminals/wiring.

Good quality (and I suspect the original patent holder) is AMP.
They are the ones used in aviation and most military applications.

THANKS, Chris...there is a West Marine about seven miles away from us. Have never been there but didn't think of them as having electrical stuff until you posted.

They are pricey so make a list of what you need before you head out to buy or look on line like at Ebay for a better deal.

The good news is if you do it right this time it will last as long as you own it.

The only brand I buy is Tyco/ Amp. They are the industry standard. The only two other brands would be Thomas & Betts or Burndy. They are not as easy as the imported brands are to find but are worth it.
