Would anyone who has a Yanmar emblem (like the one pictured below) be willing to loan it to me so that I can make a mold or be willing to make a mold to send me? Making a mold of it in plaster of paris should be easy. The mold could be filled with a plastic, then the plastic emblem painted with Yanmar colors and VOILA! a new Yanmar emblem! Anyone willing to do that?? :D

Clemson -- you haven't? Apparently Hoye sold them at some point, which is where I got the picture. They can't get them now.

Ginormous - I wonder if you could find a belt buckle on ebay with that Yanmar logo.

If you know the size, take the picture to a CNC milling machine operator and have them make you one, or a dozen.
I sent a picture of a well known emblem to a friend who duplicated it in a piece of aluminum I sent along. It was going to be the step on the back of a p/u truck, but the new owner (Christmas Gift) thought it was too pretty to be stepping on, so it got put in her collection room on display. Not for sale...

Have you tried LMTC and Sheaffer's already too? Or one of the salvage yards to pull one?

I will be watching this thread I need one of them and a stock mirror.

just for conversation-Finding one of these reminds me of the 70'S the rally wheels on Chevy's the center caps were something you had to put in the trunk when you parked somewhere or they would disappear. I caught many pukes trying to steal my 454 Monte Carlo caps then I got wise left the car at home. :)

I bet we have a used one in good enough shape to get a mold off of. I'll see what I can find. Too bad you can't make them & sell them though. I get lots of requests for those.

edit- I found one. Not real pretty but should work for a mold. Email me your address & I'll send it to you if you want it.

Could you give them away? Seriously, you could use it as an incentive offer ... "FREE with a $50 purchase" or something like that. I know I would be looking for a reason to buy more stuff from you!

I bet Yanmar will not allow you reproduce them in any way- even if you just hand them out for free. I'm pretty sure you can make yourself a few and they'll never know but I'm also pretty sure they wont let you get away with making too many of them. Trust me... Yanmar has a very well staffed legal team and they are not afraid to contact you about these sorts of things. :)

You COULD make an emblem that has that same shape but with something else in the middle. Maybe a picture of a tractor or something that they do not own the trademark to.

Yeah, I worried about posting that picture that I posted for that same reason, but not from Yanmar.

Id like to know why they get took off of them and why is it a souvenir thing or an export rule or what you rarely see a YM with an emblem.

Fredrick's said the emblems are either missing or in rotten shape. They want their tractors to look pretty when they sell them, so they take it off if it has one.

Oh I thought it was like the wrecked Toyota trucks I used to buy at auction. Someone always had stolen the tool kit and jack before us rebuilders got a hold of them. And then we spent $75-100 replacing them what a racket.

I think they just get brittle and the two tiny plastic tabs that hold them on to the grill just break off. I know this one just fell off when I tried to remove the grill to get to it.

Ok thanks Aaron made of plastic that explains a lot. For some reason I personally expected them to be die cast metal silly me.
