Tractor
B7100 gear drive
I have a b7100 older like 78 or 79 gear drive that I broke the transmission case sunday using it. I actually cracked the housing and decided I am not going to fix it. I am going to try to sell it as a hole thing otherwise part it out. I just bought a 93 b7100 hydrostatic that I am going to beable to still use all my attachments with and am going to try to figure out how to swap my bushhog front end loader (1846qt) I paid for the tractor today but am waiting on a owner op to pick up my load I really hate doing things like this with out seeing them first but it is at a dealership. I was really to lazy and can't figure out when I can make a 15 hour round trip to go pick it up so am just going to let them ship it. I hope I can figure a easy way to attach the front end loader hydraulics to it. I am not sure if the b7100 hst has quick connects or what.

;)Just to be a contrary old **#t, If you broke one B7100 under your normal use why replace it with another B7100? Why not upgrade to something that can take the load. It would certainly pull all the B7100 attachments with ease and maybe even some slightly bigger ones.

I would of went bigger but I know how I did it I should of never been bouncing the tractor back end off the ground pulling out trees with a heavy bush hog on the rear. I have used the tractor for 4 years so I figured it worked good. I also am very limited on funds and tractor with out front end loaded is a useless tractor to me to keep my gravel driveway useable. So I wanted to make sure I could reuse my loader. I also am going to make the frame brackets for the loader tie the whole tractor together to add strengh.

Aah the lone voice of common sense rising above the chorus of spendthrifts.

You are limited on funds, so you buy a 20 year old tractor without seeing it first, without knowing if your loader will be compatible? :p

Wouldn't it have been cheaper and easier to find an older, local tractor, with it's own loader, that you can check out and make sure is in good working condition?

Or, are you talking a sub $3000 budget, something super cheap?

Good luck!

I actually will have under 3000 including shipping it to me and I have checked my loader will work. I am going to part my 78 b7100 out and try to recoupe some of my money. I don't have 10,000 plus to spend local on a 4x4 tractor with a loader locally.

I posted a add on uship this morning what a great site had several bids to haul it to me. Right before accepting a bid I contacted Jim rice dealer in tn to confirm pickup and they say okay as I am finalizing arrangments with shipper they call me back and tell me it thru a rod and is no longer for sale. Sounds odd to me. So I guess I have not bought a tractor yet. It sure would be nice to find a 4wd tractor that I can reuse my bushog 1846qt loader on. I have no Idea what I am going to look at know.

I am aware of them throwing rods but not even willing to sell me the tractor with a bad motor and I will use my motor on it sounds funny.

That's not funny , it is just the way it "Ought to BE". but often is not.
We will have to put your dealer on the list of straight shooters.

Oof. That's kind of sketchy. Probably something they would have been willing to admit to someone coming in to look at the tractor on site, but didn't feel comfortable selling long distance as is. I can't see it randomyl "throwing a rod" while sitting around in their parking lot waiting to be sold.

I agree, you got lucky. Be careful with that hard-earned cashola!

Yea I think it kind of shady I offered to buy it with the blown motor and he still would not sell it to me. But my local dealer I normally deal with called shortly ago and told me they just got a b7100 hst in on trade with a belly mower they have to look over and call me back but sounds just higher than what I wanted to spend. I have no use for the belly mower so hopefully I can sell that to make the extra back up.
