Ordered the 2122654 from TSC 3/19/12 and picked up on 4/6/12 . When we got the tiller unloaded and started to assemble we found it was shipped with wrong parts! And the wrong part had a big X on it as if to say so.

Like the saying goes. "What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?" Are you asking a question or just vent some frustration?:ashamed:

Just venting! I would like to get the garden planted with the early crops, And some Bozo decides that even though the wrong part is on the pallet with the tiller we will ship it anyway.

Well i learned my lesson last Friday. Went TSC and they had 5" countyline on sale 1499.99. Loaded one up and went home { 50 mi. one way} Took it out of the crate and proceeded to assemble. Long story short--- arm holes wouldn't line line up with 3-point side plates and reinforcement plates were welded on the wrong side. Couldn't have been much QC going here. Me says, if they can't even weld the plates on the right side---then what else such as gears and bearings ain't right either? Loaded it back up and carried it back that day. They wanted to exchange  -- I got my money back and left! I did waste an entire day---but---I learned a lesson that I won't EVER FORGET! Think I will just buy the Phoenix by Sicma and call it a day--- unless someone here with first hand experience on a particular brand can change my mind.

We have the 5 ft Tarter made in the USA for $1695 + 125 shipping to a downtown mainstreet business or picked up at the local truck terminal or the Italian Phoenix T10-GE 58" for $2325 Delivered to business or terminal in SC. Ken Sweet

Ken, the T10 Series Rotary Tillers from Phoenix are made to fit tractors from 30-50 PTO horsepower. I have a Kubota B3200 with only 23 PTO HP. Is this tiller TOO much for my tractor?
Thanks

I don't think so. I was trying to compare apples to apples with all geardrive tillers I quoted. The lighter T5 Phoenix would not be comparable. Ken Sweet

You say that you proceeded to assemble, you mean that the unit that you purchased did not have the A-frames already bolted on?

I bought a Countyline tiller from TSC a few years back. I got it back home to put it together and mine had the wrong parts with it also. I called the store, they said bring the parts in to compare it to another one they had, the parts that came with mine were for a 48" tiller, mine was a 60". Once I got the right parts and got it put together, I love the tiller. It is the only tiller I have ever owned so I don't have anything to compare it to but I would buy another. Plus, I only paid $1100 for it and I felt that was a pretty good price.

Looks like this is a common problem with the TSC tillers. I over heard someone the other day complaining about the wrong hardware and a leaky gear case on one of TSC tillers.

Why couldn't TSC stick with King Kutter?

I just bought a Countryline tiller about 5 weeks ago from TSC. It was preassembled. The Countryline is made by Kingkutter - or at least the Countryline manual directly refers owners to seek help from Kingkutter. The parts list is part for part match with KK. I've had no issues with my tiller.

sounds like I need to stay away fromTSC in my search for a tiller! I have been looking at used ones, is this a good idea?

From what I hear, some TSC stores carry either Tarter or King Kutter. Unfortunately, my local TSC has the Tarter's. I wrote the serial number down and called to confirm it.

I think there are good used ones out there to be had, but I have not had any luck finding one. Craigslist generally has a few.

Interesting. I was not aware of this.

This is one reason I bought my 3pt. tiller from my local dealer. It was fully assembled & delivered and ready to go.Yes it was a few hundred bucks more but less problems. No one really seems to care about service at the big box stores.coobie

The 6 footer I saw at TSC was made by Behlen, which the manager unsuccessfully tried to convince me was the parent company of, and really made by, King Kutter.

I purchased the King Kutter II at Orschln's.
