Welcome to TBN--join the fun.

Check out the Kubota B-series. My first tractor was a 2005 Kubota B7510 HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, 4WD, hydrostatic tranny, power steering) with the LA302 FEL (4-ft wide bucket, about 800 lb lift). Cost new: $12.6K.

Good luck.

Welcome.

Why not try them all. Kubota, Deere, MF, etc. I think you will find that for two acres, the SCUT tractors will be perfect. You can mow, till, plow, etc with all of them.

I used to have a BX2660. Very good tractor. I have been hearing a lot of good things about the new John Deere 1 series. Very cool features.

But it is more about what you like, and how you feel about the dealership that will sell/service it for you. So, go shopping.

BX25, turns in less than it's lenght...comes w/ FEL and BH and buckets.
Inexpensive, proven lightweight not overpowered. Company doesn't
inject unfair sales practices, better than great support even on this list.
1000's of implements and attachments available for it. Do your research,
look at how many guys here own Kubotas, there are reasons for it, all
others are wannbes. It is what it is. If I were to do it over again I think
I would go slightly used, resale value is awsome too, you will see, if you dig.

As RDJ2516 said, Why not try them all. Kubota, Deere, MF... One other SCUT that frequently gets overlooked is Yanmar, they used to produce most of the CUT's for Deere, and still make a couple models for them. Top quality and since they have split their marketing agreement with Cub Cadet, I think they have some aggressive pricing. You might want to avoid the NH SCUT's as NH has switched tractor manufacturers and I'd wait until the dust settles around NH before I would consider them.

The BX Kubotas can do a lot, but ground clearance is limited and should be looked at closely if you plan to use it for cultivation. Might be prudent to step up to the B class. They are still small enought to be very maneuverable but have much more clearance and a little more weight for handling heavier implements, more traction and more FEL lift capacity for about the same price.

Clue us in to what you plan on doing with the tractor and we can help guide you to a suitable list of tractors. Right now, all we have to go on is general tractoring....

Do you need a backhoe?
Is your 2 acres flat, hilly, wooded?
Would grass mowing be a primary use?
Is snow removal or driveway maintenance on the honey do list?

Pretty much in agreement with RJD2516, we really have been satisfied with our Kubotas, but if I needed a new SCUT right now I would check them all out.
