Hi guys,

How much and when should fuel come out of the overflow tube? I noticed today that I have fuel weeping from my overflow tube. This is the tube that comes off of the second injector. Does this indicate a partially clogged injector?

Good question? I doubt it is a problem injector but on mine the return (what you call an overflow?) goes into the fill neck of the fuel tank. I cant tell you how much is normal it cant be much though jmho.

Is something missing or what is what I am thinking at this point about it. The return on some (mine) goes into the TS system and then to the tank.

I bet his hose rotted off and does not connect back to the tank. G, your lines should connect the injectors back to a nipple in the fuel tank neck to return it to the tank, it will dribble a bit all the time from what i understand.

Can someone post a picture of the return hose connecting to the fuel tank? There is something on the base/side of the threaded part that the fuel cap screws onto. I thought that the "something" was a pressue relief so it wouldn't form a vacuum in the tank as fuel was used. There's a hole in it... like where you could push a hose in. :) The hose on mine is very flexible in the part that comes off the injector, then there's another piece of hose spliced onto it that is very stiff. I tried to shove this stiff hose into the thing on the fuel tank. I got it in, but I don't have any confidence it will stay. I put a ticket in with Hoye to find out if they have the hose/fitting on the fuel tank.

I think there is a little metal nipple that goes into the tank that the rubber line then goes onto. My tractor is 3 hrs from me now so i can look. There wont be a vacuume in the tank because the vent is a slit or space in the neck under the cap and the rubber washer thats there, trust me it vents through the cap, thats why u just wanna snug the cap up and not wrench it down like your tighning a car lug nut!

Thanks, Winston. Looks different than mine, probably because I don't have the thermostart -- wish I did! I have a small (~1/4") diameter host coming off of the second injector. I'll see what Hoye has for me...

My Tank was getting pressured up and leaking at the Injector Return when it was full or close to full of Fuel. You could actually see the Air Bubbles blowing the fuel out. Didn't like that at all :( I done two things first I used a piece of old Vacume line to seal the return and new if I done that there would be no way for the pressure to escape so the Fuel Cap Ghetto rig. was next. It works great. It's off an old ATV or dirt bike gas tank ;) The Blk. cap on my TS is there just to keep it clean. I Only have to use my TS Rarley and it just takes a secound to add or remove it;)

you prolly have the plastic tank like me, it is a small plastic barb on the LHS below the thread for the cap. the hose goes from there to the closest injector then from the other side of that inj it goes to the further one. job done, and it only dribbles a tiny bit depending on how hard you are working it.

Carey -- yes, mine looks like the pic you posted. Question for you: What does the fitting on the tank that the hose plugs into look like? Is there a separate fitting or just an opening in the tank?

When I bought it was just a hole with the return line Loosely gong into the Tank. All I did was used a piece of vacume hose a Inch or so and Ran the line through it and put it in the hole of the Tank. That plugged it up. You would never know it even looking at the pic. you might now that I told you what to look for ;) Clemsonfor just stated he leaves his cap loose which i new of the Pressure build up problem if the tank is not Vented. Thats why I used the old ATV fitting to prevent that from happening. I actually could see bubbles coming out and then I realised where the Fuel was coming from esp. when it had a full or nearly full tank. I'm From WV. and Ohio and know the Climate and IMHO you need to set up your TS. I can show you my On Cheap setup that works great. One of my Better Ghetto Rigs. Trust me there's some that I not so proud of  All your expense will be for the Igniter if its not there. If it's not all your have to do is remove the Bolt and screw it in and run power to it which can be done alot of different ways. When I first set mine up I just used a wire straight to the + post on the battery. But when I found out how well it worked you can see I ran it Through my Ign. Switch.

Its not so much that i leave it loose. I have all the factory pieces for my tank its just that their design was only designed to be snug, not wrenched down. If you pul the rubber washer off under the cap you can see a slot in it that allows it to vent, if your crank the cap down it closes this vent channel off.

Mine doesn't vent well enough to let me tighten the cap at all. I have to have it just barely sung or it will turn the tank inside out literally.

When I first got it I had it sitting out in the sun and I noticed the top of the tank wasn't visible any more. So I walk up and see its all sucked down inside itself so I leave it just snug any more and its works fine.

Mine was just the opposite it was getting Pressured up. I could actually see the Air bubbles coming from around the return line. Someone else may tighten it up and I didn't want that to happen and added this Vent Tube so it was Quick and easy solution.

Yes, mine is just a hole but had a some random piece of plastic jammed into it. It looked like the plastic piece of a wall anchor that the screw would go into... Anyway, I just pulled that out and fed the overflow tube into that. There's a gap around the tube so no danger of pressurization/depressurization. :)

Thanks for the offer to help get a TS set up on my 1700. I didn't have cause to start my tractor this winter, and it's a good thing because I don't think I could have done it. I'm hoping to sell off my 1700 since I just ordered a 2210 and don't need 2 tractors, so I don't think I'll try to make any more mods. Just clean it up and ship it out.
