Comparison Kubota vs. John Deere

/ Kubota vs. John Deere #21
I've got both, an old john deere and a new kubota. I looked at both and initially thought I wanted a JD, but after seeing and pricing them out I ended up with the kubota b2920. The JD was a lot more money and I just liked the b2920 a lot more after trying out both and went with that and have been very happy. There isn't one that's better than the other overall, they're both very good and reliable products with lots of happy customers and good resale. The decision really comes down to what dealer is better, what layout you like better and which one you like more after trying both. Whenever I look for my next tractor I'm sure I'll look at both again too... but I do have to admit I think the combo of both green an orange looks pretty good in my garage, so maybe I'll just get a bigger JD and have 2 bigger tractors :D

I've bought 13 Kubotas over the past 9 years. I bought my first one because the comparable Deere was $3000 more and the Blue was $2500 more. That's why I started with Kubota. My dealer (Barlows) wants to sell tractors and he prices them to move locally and for nation wide delivery. The other color dealers locally sell a lot fewer tractors and have to make more profit, I understand that and have no problem with it.
As long as Barlows sells Kubotas to me for a great price, I'll continue buying from him even though I've finally got the 5 I need, I've finished buying.:laughing:

You know what they say John, one day at a time; one day at a time. "I won't buy another tractor today." See you at the meeting next week.:laughing::thumbsup:

I know what forum it is I can READ! Regardless which forum it is I like DEERE.:2cents:

Ok, I will say it. Kubota is a better tractor and actually costs less for equal performance and features.

I would say that's an opinion and is not always true. No matter what you look at there's ups and down of each brand. If it were that clear cut, there would be no competition or need for it...

Not in my case. I have equal quotes for JD, Kubota, and Mahindra (1026R, BX25, Max25 respectively). On specs alone the Mahindra probably wins, but having a dealer network and parts availability is as important as specs.

Have both and can say that these are two top brands. Personally, we use big JDs for crops and medium sized Kubotas for general purpose. The smaller JDs are made by Yanmar and I have preference for Kubota over Yanmar, even if the Yanmars are designed by JD. Yanmar makes nice machines, but I just can't warm up to them. Bottom line is buy American whenever you can given respectable quality.

Well, both of you are posting on a Kubota section. Are you trying to convince us of something that we we will never be convinced about? I never post on the John Deere section. What's your problem?

Easy big fella. I was just offering some conflicting info. The BX25 is a sweet little machine, I'd love to own one!

Would you appreciate a Kubota owner posting "conflicting info" in the John Deere section? We chose Kubota because we believe it is a better machine designed and built by Kubota. John Deere OEMs their machines (the size we are talking about) from various Asian manufacturers, that's the difference.

I like tractors period. I'm not married to any particular color. I can't help that the specifications are different, or the prices available at my local dealers.

I really don't give two shakes if you post accurate info in the JD forum.

One thing not really mentioned so far... Both tractors - and some others as well - make good tractors. But I suggest you also talk with folks in your area who have tractors and find out who is the best dealers. You'll notice in these forums that there are some great dealers, and some duds. If you're close on choosing a tractor, the quality of the dealer is an important factor in my book.

So, accurate info such as the fact that John Deere OEMs machines and Kubota does not would be appreciated on the John Deere section?

I think you folks are what are called trolls. I don't post on John Deere discussions praising Kubota.

Didn't mean to offend. I do like JD, but have no problem with any other brand and would love to own any other brand, yes, including Kubota! My local dealer has always given me very fair prices, so I come back to them, frequently less than what the Kubota dealer is. And in my original post i don't believe I mentioned JD at all. I kept it general and said it could be said true by almost any different brand. I was just stating that is an opinion and can go for any brand. Kioti makes an equivalent tractor to the top manufactures for less money and a lot of standard features that are optional elsewhere. And too let you know, I would like it if you posted on the John Deere section, otherwise this forum wouldn't be nearly as useful with one sided biased answers.

To me it boils down to the dealership. I would prefer to own a John Deere but in our area the John Deere Dealers aren't even close to the Kubota dealer. It's all about service before, during, and after the sale. I do think John Deere does cater a little better to the really big tractor crowd. They will flip over backwards for someone wanting to buy a 300 hp tractor. But it's more like you are bothering me asking questions about a 50 hp tractor. Atleast that is the way it seems here in notheastern ohio.

The OP asked this question here in the kubota forum to hear the Kubota side of things.

He also asked it in the JD forum, for the same reason. ;) :)

Trolls? OK.
1) my posts didn't bash Kubota
2) my posts didn't praise JD

Name-calling is uncalled for. I don't think you represent Kubota's fine brand all that well!

X2

I don't believe I even mentioned a brand. Just offered the other side of the argument... to ANY brand, not just limited to JD.

I also didn't realize we had to post in the sections of just the brands that we own and just because we don't own them means we know nothing about the brand.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I'm just trying to help the OP and I will continue to.
