After freezing my butt off last winter and reading huskerplowboys thread on his cab build. I thought a cab would be a good challenge. This cab will definitely not be as high quality as his though.

Started mockup of cab out of wood.

Outer frame coming together.Trying to get this square was difficult due to there being nothing on tractor flat to put a level on. Was hard to even tell if tractor was sitting level.

1st pic of bottom of door
Drove tractor over to couple of trees in yard and used chainfall to remove cab with help from wife. Four bolts to remove. 2 bolts off of loader mounts I made and 2 bolts that go through rops which also sits on hockey pucks on top of Rops

So latest Is I got sheet metal bent for roof.Nothing fancy two bends on sides. Completed all welds and grinding put fit small pieces where theres holes. Cut small pieces for corners of windows to make them rounded so can use continuous seal for window. Added a window in door so it would be stronger and dropped off cab at powdercoater.
Seems like it went fast reading and flipping through pics. But now really sick of working on it . I usually work away and when there is work around home the workdays are still 13-14 hours. But I guess I am too far into it to stop now.

Thanks
As of now I would guess around 250lbs. Gonna get much heavier once the windows are in. Started looking into getting windows and have a feeling not gonna be cheap. May get some left over lexan for sides before spending bunch of money on windows in case i dont like it or need to do some modifications.

Pics of cab returned from powdercoater. Did a great job and think was a much better route than painting. I do wish now that I would have sanded cab down smooth as the semi gloss shows any imperfection. I was sick of working on it and just needed to see paint to get me motivated though. This is as far as I have gotten as I am away from home again. Hope in a couple weeks I can get some windows installed and track some type of vinyl rubber down to fill in gaps at fenders as I didnt want any metal touching plastic as this cab will be removable and dont want to scuff plastic. I also used 3/4 " rubber below seat to fill in any gaps for cold air and hopefully will sound deaden a bit

You can make me one that "imperfect" anytime!! Man, really nice job.

Looking good.... daughters FIL bought plexiglass for back of his cab.. At the time he paid about a 2/3 less than buying glass window from JD.
A salvage yard near you might be a good place to find some windows..

That's about what I figured around 200+ before putting the doors on. That's really not that bad IMO - and once it's on you'll never give it a second thought. I too like the idea of using lexan first. Keep the photos coming! Once again...great job!!

Thanks all for comments. My neighbour seen the cab and offered me an old cab he had laying in bush to me that I could use windows and window rubber just havent been able to check it out yet. The rubber for windows isnt to cheap to buy either.

That would have been nice if you knew that before starting your build. But, hopefully, things will still work out for you.

No..but when you compare prices with manufactured cabs...those start at about $3500 for a hard cab...your cost won't be too bad. It'll just depend on how many bells and whistles you add.
