Anybody out there able to give me a quick answer as to the difference between an L3200 and L3240? I am offered an L3200 (new) from a dealer for 18,500 - good deal? It has a FEL but nothing else. Thanks in advance - Snoho3

I believe the 3240 is a Grand L. Heavier and more Extras.

Really no comparison. GL is way more tractor than the L3200.

I'm sure tractors are priced differently from State to State but that's not for off from what I paid for my new L3240 4x4 w/fel 2 months ago.

Sounds pretty high. There are dealers around here advertising a base model L3200 (DT) with loader for under $15K. Add another $1000-1500 for HST.

Also, as mentioned, the L3240 is a lot more tractor. The L3200 is closer to the B3200 spec/size wise than it is the L3240. When you step up to the Grand L you also have a choice of different loaders, backhoes, lots more options, etc.

Thanks for the quick responses. Much appreciated. Shooter, my 18,500 quite was for a L3200, souinds like you bought a 3240 for about the same price. That makes my price high if the 3240 is a bigger more well equiped machine. I didn't do any dickering though. I note that the L3200 is a 3 cylinder machine - am I sacrificing anything by not having 4 cylinders? Horsepower is horsepower I imagine, but are there maintenance cosiderations of one over another? Again, thanks for your thoughts.

My local kubota dealer is notoriously high on price. i was quoted similar for an l3200 with loader quick attach cruise control and 1 rear remote with r1s. they wanted upwards of 26k for a base 3240 with the smaller loader. no other options. I wont be buying a Kubota at least not from them.

I was looking at the L3200, but bought a used, like new L3800 (14 hours). I wanted gear drive w/live PTO. The 3 cyl diesels are a fine power plant by the way. The L3800 is a lot of tractor for the price!

Can you be more specific?

Almost 700# more for the GL
Gl has bigger tires
GL longer wheelbase
GL has HST plus
GL uses larger engine
GL has bigger loader.
GL has more 3pt lift capacity
and the list goes on:thumbsup:

To fully appreciate the differences, you need to go try both, my wife and I did that and quickly decided the GL was the one for us; nothing wrong with the L Series, just not the right one for us.

very high price. I was offered the L3200 with Fel for 15,500. I opted out the fel( i have one on the L3240) and paid 12,500...

Wow, are the prices really that low on the 3200???

I know it is basically the same tractor as the 3800, which are the newer models of the 2800/3400/3700. And for the last 5 or so years the OTD price that I have been seeing on here have been ~16,500-17,500 for the 3400/3700 w/FEL. And a good bit north of 20k for the 3240:confused2:

Heck, I got mine 5 years ago. L3400 GST w/FEL for 17k OTD. And joined here shortly thereafter. And I always read (allthough not post) in these priceing posts about the abov tractors.

Now you guys are telling me that a new tractor like mine with FEL can be had for under 15k??? and a GL for only a grand more than I paid for my L??

Before I read all the replies I was going to say that 18.5k seemed like a good starting point but that 17.5k OTD would be a good # to shoot for.

Heck, using the build my kubota and just clicking the basics shows

...............................L3200 HST & FEL......................L3240 HST & FEL
................................19,570...................................24,853
and less 10%...............~17,600................................~22,500

Because everyone says ~10% off MSRP is the Norm:D

LD1, I haven't seen any prices that low around here.

And yeah, for 2k I would have taken the 5k loader. :D

Actually I don't need it. I have one on the 3240, and the 3200 is my mowing tractor. I don't see myself blowing 3K(whether cheap or not) on something I already have on another tractor larger, stronger, and can lift more capacity...... BTW: i checked my quote papers and it was $4,000 for the fel without tractor purchase and $3,000 with.. I also edited this mistake above.

Depends on the individual, we have four tractors with front end loaders and if I buy another it will also have a FEL.
