I'm in the market for a new 48" tiller for my Kubota BX 2360. The sub-compact tractor has 23HP with 17.7HP to the PTO. I have been told by a dealer that Sicma-Phoenix, made in Italy, makes the best tillers. The Taylor Way looks identical to a King Kutter, is gear driven and is significanlty heaver than the Phoenix. Both tillers have six tines per flange. The Phoenix is approximately $200 more and is chain driven.

Also I have been told that the BX2360 is too low to the ground to use a low profile 12" single bottom plow, designed for sub-compact tractors.

Any suggestions on the tillers or experience with low profile plows with a BX tractor.

How much does the Tarter 48"tiller weigh?

Not to change your mind but check the king kutter at tsc. I think the 48" is $1400.

I have the jd 2320 and 2305. The KK 60" works great on them. Its an awesome tiller. Only $1500.

Thanks for all the help and the Tarter tiller certainly looks like a well built tiller.

Unfortunately for me, the Kubota owners manual for the BX 2360 lists the weight limitation for a rotary tiller at 375 lbs., even though it lists the lift capacity at well over 600 lbs. ???

I have read The King Kutter 48" and Taylor Way 48" are also over 500 lbs.

I am now deciding between a Bush Hog RTC 48" with 4 tines per flange or the Phoenix RT4 48" with 6 tines per flange. I understand both are made in Italy by Sicma. The Phoenix is approximately $200.00 more.

Maybe I can't go wrong with either since they are both under 400 lbs.
