Kubota b2400 SOLD. Now a Massey Ferguson 285 SOLD. Now a Kubota 50HP
I have an LA351 Kubota loader. I took the valve body off today, with the intention of replacing the o-rings (or whatever). No problem, I figured... pull it off, read the manufacturer name on the casting, and the model number, and get parts... Great...

Till... I tried to get a name... I have nothing. Anybody able to point me in the right direction? Yes, I went to the Kubota dealer, and while they

The other thing I'd like to know is the flow rates... What comes into the valves, and how much of that goes through the power beyond? As I plan on putting another valve block on for a grapple, I figure I may just add some rear hydraulics at the same time, using the power beyond.

Thanks

Kubota B2400

Hydraulics:

Type: open
Capacity: 3.2 gal [12.1 L]
Pump flow: 5.8 gpm [22.0

Same pump fluid flows through all valves at 5.8 GPM.

So your new valve should be able to handle at least 5.8 GPM.

Thanks JJ.

Any idea what that valve block would be (ie make? there are numbers that would probably let me find the model)? I want to rebuild it and need to go to the local hydraulics supply for rings... (before I open it)

Thanks

Is there a name plate that has been painted over? Some OEM's paint everything and this can make the name plates blend in with the castings, etc..

All else fails take the valve bank with you to the hydraulic shop and they can probably size the O-rings while you wait.

Nope, found all sorts of casting numbers etc. but not a brand name. I'll take it into the city with me today and see if I can get some proper sized rings.

Well, pulled apart my valve... the detents are pretty eukered. On one, the ball bearings were worn down, and there was damage in that spool area. Plastic spacer had damage. Cleaned it up and re-installed. I guess I need to start watching for sales for a good loader valve without plastic bits...

Found this one

Surplus Center - 2 SPOOL COMPACT 10 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE

Any recommendations on brands? As I say, not a rush at the moment, one to keep an eye on sales for...

Thanks

That joystick valve should work fine, and here is a selector/diverter valve for the grapple.

i have a similar problem. i thought i finally got the @(&%!%& thing fixed, new o-rings, cut (and ground flat) some pvc tube to replace the busted up plastic bits, made some gaskets.... got it all back together no leaks:thumbsup: so i reconnected the loader, and oil everywhere:mad: i'm thinking the thing is toast and i don't want to deal with it anymore. at least until i saw the price of the replacement !!!!$$$$$!!!!! that's insane.

so my question: i looked at the link above, and it looks like it accepts 2 hoses from the tractor and 4 out to the loader. my valve has 3 from the tractor and 4 out to the loader. what's the 3rd one (the one on top i'm guessing) do? what do i do with it if i replace the control valve with one of these non kubota valves. or better yet can someone point me in the direction of a better replacement (one with 3 from the tractor and 4 to the loader - with float please :D)

thanks,
neil

isn't that the same valve as posted above? i don't see where the 3rd hose goes. what does the 3rd hose do anyway? any help is appreciated.

thanks

You have 3 hoses to the tractor. One is high pressure coming from the pump, another is the high pressure return from the power beyond which feeds the 3 point lift. The final is the lower pressure return for the oil used by the valve.

thanks. that explains a lot.

so that means i need the power beyond kit as well right?

do any of you know which is which on my original valve? i have 2 that look like they come from close to the engine (i assume this is where the hydraulic pump is), and one the goes to the back of the tractor to i guess that's either the tank or the 3pt. will it kill anything if i hook it up wrong while trying to figure out what goes where?

thanks again for all the help, i've almost got it all figured out.

Yes, you wll need the kit or adapter.

If the PB port has a plug in it now, you will need the adapter sleeve or the hex screw to make that port a PB port.

After you install the PB adapter, connect a hose from the PB outlet to the 3pt line, and route the tank port to tank.

thanks, i got it.

i just got back from the kubota dealer, and they told me which line is which. so now all i have to do is buy the valve, buy the adapter, buy 3 new hoses the right length with the right fittings, weld up a 90 deg plate to mount the new valve on, and jerry rig an adapter for my old control lever. no problem.

thanks again for your help.
