We did this four years ago. Convenience be gone. What used to be right around the corner is now an hour round trip. Lot longer drive to and fro to work and a lot more wear and tear on the vehicles. Is living in the country worth this? It sure is.

Don't forget the $500 dollar store also known as Costco. Cuts down on those trips

We've learned a lot about combining our trips. When one of us makes a trip close to a big city we buy in bulk and freeze. Probably our biggest adjustment was the combining of the trips. Just a gallon of gas is an hour round trip. So when one of us goes in to town we always ask each other if we need anything. Took a little practice but after we got used to it things worked out well. It's for sure a different lifestyle.
