Chipper Looking for a chipper for a Kioti ck27

I've got a ck27hst (I think 20.5 pto hp) that I'd like to get a chipper for. Lots of small trees, scrub to clear but not many good burn weekends. It seems like a Wallenstein bx42 is my best bet. I'd like to chip up to 6" but don't think I have the power for it is why I'm looking at the 42. Any suggestions for other chippers or is this best? Pros and cons? Thanks.

I have a Jinma 284 That's about 25hp I use a Chinese 6" capacity chipper and it does a GREAT job.I too only chip junk trees/brush mostly pine tree stuff. Some birch and Cherry trees. And I have done up to it's 6" capacity with no problem.I would expect you to be able to use one without any problems. mine was only $1400.00 a few years ago it attaches easily and I lower it on a wooden platform with wheels when I need to store it. Someone must have one near you? There is a few utube videos of the JM-006 in action

I have a 6" Jimna chipper and i used it on my JD870 for about 5 years (if i remember right) . that tractor had 25HP at the PTO and was able to chip 6" without an issue as long as i prevented the self feed from sucking in too fast. My new DK45 sucks in anything i throw at it.

20 HP would also work, but id be leery of feeding in 6" stuff.

I have a large Salsco chipper (made USA) which is very robust. My model (6210XT) is to big for your tractor but they have smaller sizes. You can't buy a better built machine.
The 824PTO model (4") only requires 15 hp.
The 826PTO model (6") needs 25 hp I think.

I use a BX42 on my CK30. Good chipper. Most of your "chipping" material will be 4" and under.

Thanks everyone. I think I've narrowed it down to either a Jinma 6" or a Wallenstein bx42. I know it's not apples-to-apples since it's a 6" and a 4" but I don't think I've got the HP for bx62. Jinma and Wally seem to be the top two discussed. Now I need to to decide how much I can afford to spend....

I have a Wallenstein BX 42 I run with a JD 2320 - 18 PTO HP.
4 inch soft wood is no problem, however 4 inch hardwood like pecan will draw the engine down.
I'm very pleased with the BX 42 - simple design, no belts, well made and getting to the knives is easy plus the opening is 4 x 10 inches.
This makes it much easier to get limbs with bends in them thru the chipper.
I bought the BX 42 mostly based on what I read on this forum and couldn't be happier with it. It's a very trouble free unit.

Keep an eye on Craigslist (and use Search Tempest to widen your search). You can find some good chippers on there for a decent price.

My chipper is a Woods 5000 which has a 5" capacity and a shredder for brush, leaves and other smaller stuff. Bearcat makes this chipper/shredder and has the same unit for purchase. Sorry, I don't recall Bearcat's model number.
This chipper/shredder is rated 15-30 PTO HP. I used it behind a 24 PTO HP Deere 790, initially. Did a fine job for the most part. and never stalled the tractor, but I'd get an occasional bogging down of the engine if I fed it too fast. Mostly, I put the limb or branch in the chute and walk away.

With 20.5 PTO HP, you should easily chip 3" branches and limbs. 4" stuff may cause an occasional problem, but just feed it slowly

Thanks, I haven't used search tempest before, that makes it easier! I've been checking you tube videos and sure like how easy it is to bet to the blades on the bx42. The fun part is getting it past the boss....

It is easier to beg forgiveness then ask permission...
