Tractor
John Deere 2520 & John Deere 445
I bought this tractor last May and so far it has been everything I have wanted. Just wanted to share a few pics of it at work. Thanks to all for the wealth of info given here, I have learned a ton since spring. A Lake Ontario fishing forum used to be my daily read but now its TBN

Sure looks like it is doing the jobs for you.
On the third pic, did you plow before using the disc, or did the disc work up the sod that way?
Going to be a food plot?

beenthere, I plowed with a single bottom plow first and a month later ran the disc over it several times. In late Aug I purchased the tiller. I spread composted manure over the site and tilled it several times in early fall. This will be my new garden location for next year.

Is that a Markham tooth bar?

Sweet! I love your set-up on the quick-hitch for holding your tools. Can we get a closer picture of it?

wrflt, Yes it is a Markham toothbar.

Henri88, The pipes for tools are actually mounted on a JD 3-pt tractor receiver hitch attachment. I added the holder for the chainsaw after this pic.

I just recently (2 weeks) tried to find a Markham/Gator toothbar and could not make contact with them. I liked the way it was constructed. Finally settled for one from Iowa farm equipment. Almost the same, but seems it might be a little weaker. I am pleased with it so far though.

Glen, I charter out of Oak Orchard Creek on Lake Ontario about 30 miles west of Rochester. I only do limited weekend chartering. Just enough to help defray some of the cost of the sport. My boat is just a 24 ftr so 2-3 person trips are a nice fit. I see you are from the finger lakes area, where exactly? I try to pull my 20 ftr a couple of times up to Taughannock Falls on Cayuga during the winter if the weather allows. Me and my son pounded on the landlock salmon there last New Year's day.

I used to have a slip in Sodus Bay and cruised around the eastern half of Lake Ontario the Galloos and the St lawrence River. I have a slip at the south end of Seneca Lake now.

Glen, I've been checking your setup out in your profile picture or whatever you want to call it and I've been trying to figure out what you have on the loader. Looks like a grapple that's opened all the way but can't tell for sure. Sure wish I'd gone cab when I got mine a couple years ago.

Nice tractors to the both of you!

Your right MTM. I use it a lot like this as a giant rake to pull debris out from around trees. This style works good for this.

I see now. Guess I've just not seen one open quite that far! Can imagine it would be pretty handy!

Hi Merc.......I really like your set-up for the tool holder on the 3pth attachment. I have the same attachment for my 2520, but it never dawned on me to use it as you have, thanks for posting the pics, it's a great idea, hope you don't mind if I use it.

I am also impressed with the toolbox you have mounted behind the seat. What is the actual box itself.......I also have a box on mine, but yours is a serious looking unit. I sure didn't run accross anything like that when I was looking for one.

Nice set up Merc. I assume by your handle, you are a Mercury Marine fan. I used to own a Marina, sold a lot of Mercruiser stuff in my day.......with normal care and maintenance, they were pretty much bulletproof engines.

revitupfaster, here are some links to some of my mods that I posted previously. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I just saw another empty SS disconnect enclosure at work yesterday. Maybe I'll make anther toolbox for the 445.

You are right I am Mercury fan. I have 3 merc outboards (1 is actually mariner) and 1 mercruiser. Maniac is my "handle" on LO. Here is a pic of my mini "fleet". They can keep me fishing almost year around.
