Welcome to TBN. I purchased a BX2360 this past spring and now have around 100 hrs on it. I broke mine in by generally using the machine but keeping away from extremes. Varied engine rpm and did not exceed around 2600 for the first 50 hrs. At 50hrs I changed over to Rotella T6 15-40 synthetic and changed all filters. I also changed the HST over to SUDT2. I'm sure you'll get many opinions though. Best luck with your new toy.

I haven't had a new tractor before, so I'm not all that familiar, but know several threads here have talked about checking your front axle fluid many times in the first few months. They come very low.

Enjoy that new :tractor:

BTW, you don't have a tractor until you post pictures.

The manual will tell you what to do--generally don't max it out for the first 50 hours. But whatever you do, don't lug it. Those diesels are designed to be run pretty hard. I would limit it to 2500 rpm or so for the first 50 hours, and don't drive at full speed either.

Have fun, be safe, and send pictures.

Check the level of gear lube in your front axle. Its very common for it to get low after just a few hours of use. Mine was low when I first checked it. To check it, there is a orange colored dip stick on the left front axle, and it can be hard to get out of its hole.

I checked all fluid levels, grease fittings, bolts, belts etc. worked my way through the Manual. Also sprayed a clear dry film on bolts and weld joints ... its only gonna be this clean once! Will break it in like the others have said and change all filters and oil at 50hrs.

Can't go wrong with the advice so far. I did pretty much what others have said only I ran ours a bit higher, but with cool down cycles.

You don't need to baby it, just follow the manual and do regular fluid checks, clean your screens etc.

How is it equipped, FEL, tires etc.?

Enjoy your new tractor.

Can I ask why you purchased the 54" deck versus the 60"? When I purchased mine this past spring the dealer pushed the 54" deck so I agreed. However, TBN users convinced me the 60" was a better choice. I called my dealer back and switched my order to the 60" deck and I am glad I did. It was a $180 increase in cost so not a big deal.

Main reason is my shed door is 60" and I hope I can fit it through holding up the rubber guard (anyone know for sure ?) but also didn't like how the 60" stuck out so far. I only drink and drive in the yard and would catch you know what from you know who if I hung the deck on some of her trees or bushes:) also picking up extra foot of cut so don't want to cut down on my drinkin time!!:D:D

We have much in common....I got the 54" because I didn't like the extra overhang of the 60"...That's not overkill for 2.5 acres..Actually it's perfect.

I do like to put a hurting on a Coors Light or 4 when cutting in the summer too..:drink:

I really don't know the overall width of the 54". I keep mine in a garage, so I never had to worry about it....Mine appears to be around 68" with the shute down and around 58" or so with it up...I think the design of yours is slightly different.

My BX23 doesn't have cruise, so I can't really say...Don't see a close-up on the Kubota web site..

All I can say is I remember the anticipation when I ordered mine this past spring. What a relief when the call came to schedule delivery. You are going to be very satisfied. Post those pictures as soon as you can.

New here too. Have about 70 hrs on my BX 2360. Probably the best investment I have made. It has been a workhorse on my 10 acre property. Did the 50 HR service myself. Front axel oil was very low, but I would have known to check that had I found this site sooner. I too have learned quite a lot just browsing the posts here. Have fun.

Based on the mesurements I gave, looks like you should just make a 60" door...No gurantees though...I'd get the tractor and make the door wider if need be, once you have it in your posession you'll see why.

You may even end up building it it's own garage...Mine lives in a climate controlled garage and it's quite happy.:D

The cruise control is located on the console adjacent to the throttle lever. You select the speed you want with the treadle then lift the cruise control knob and release the treadle and it maintains your speed. Low tech but mine seems to work well.
