Hi

I have a Blizzard 60" 3pt blower and want to put a hydraulic chute rotator on it,,,any one know where, and any tips?

I have a remote for TnT on the back , so that's done, I just need the right motor

In my case, on my blower, the "right" motor was one I had on hand off an old salt spinner. I just removed the handle from the old cable operated chute turner and stuck the motor on in its place. I'm just careful not to pull the valve handle too hard when adjusting...

See the attached pics of my 2 spool valve , the QC are for the hydraulic Top link, and the 8's are for a chute rotator that I still have to figure out,,,,I will post more when I mount it on the tractor tomorrow

Does anyone have a hydraulic Shute rotator?

If sowhat motors are they using for thee job

You could use about any hyd motor, if you control the rpm. Maybe use sprocket and chain, or cyl and lever, and spring..

Jake,
I think many of the factory shute rotators are based on using a double action hydraulic cylinder. That said, I think the hydraulic motor would be a nice clean setup.

I think you need a high torque low RPM motor.

Something like these...

Dynamic Motors (Low Speed High Torque) - Hydraulic Motors - Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Power Transmission at Beiler Hydraulics

Chris

I like the Rube Goldberg way that John Deere does it with a linear cylinder and a cable-pulley system on their garden tractor snowblowers. Could be reverse engineered, but much welding and fabrication skills would be needed.

My old farmking used a simple radius pulley and a piece of wire rope. A 8" double acting cylinder would then rotate the chute in about 1-2 seconds thru 200 degree turn. The parts were about $100 for the pulley and i had the cylinder in storage already. My new blower is super complicated thing....hydraulic motors, chains, relays.....looks like a mess if i had to work on it. Works amazingly fast though.

Ii currently have a wire screw handle operated from the seated position, I like th direct method of mounting that expanded wire screw on a hydraulic motor, but the ones I've seen have had RPMs in the 1,000's,,,that chute will look like it's doing a piruette at 1 k rpm,,,,,lol,,,,good for u- tube

I got the VB mounted, and the hydraulic top link in,,,,,works really nice, and placing the body just behind the seat works well

The hyd motor only turns at a speed based on the GPM's applied.

You control the amount of fluid. Just provide the hyd motor a small amount of fluid.

Install a priority valve that will provide say 1 GPM, or whatever.

If you supply the motor I posted above, with 1 gal, it will turn about 120 rpm, and if you provide it with .5 gal, it will turn 60 rpm.

A 6.0 cu in hyd motor, using 1 gal will turn at 39 rpm, and .5 gal will turn it about 19 rpm.

If you go with larger displacement, the motor will run slower for a given input.

Need help, please. Hydraulic rotator on my Kubota BX2750d only turns one way. cylinder on the rotator has 4 inputs. Currently using top two. Is this correct?

Doesn't look like anyone replied. Yes, the hydraulic chute rotator only uses the top 2 inputs. The bottom 2 are the hydraulic pressure valve adjustments.

I have the same problem...chute only rotates 1 way. (on middle 2 (red/blue) on 4 way value. Strangely however, it rotates both ways when hoses are attached on top/bottom.

My Kubota dealer is looking into the problem. Did you get this problem fixed...if so, how?

The control lever has two positions to the right. The 1st is basically for a slow, controlled dump if using a bucket. Push harder to the right and you're chute will rotate (and your bucket will dump quickly).

Thanks; I found out about the far right detent (quick dump/chute rotate) after searching around this forum.

Strange that I could not find any documentation about this "feature" in the Kubota owners manual or the chute rotator installation manual.

I'm learning by the seat of my pants; no manuals whatsoever. Picked up a used BX2230 with 400 hrs on it this summer. MMM, factory hard cab with heat and a brand spanking new 2750D blower strapped to a pallet. Decided to mount the blower a couple months back to be sure I had all the parts and new the sequence of assembly before the Canadians began exporting cold air.

Pretty simple stuff, only a minor adjustment to the shaft on the subframe and I was set. I installed an electric chute deflector, aft facing spot light, and a 12v power supply in the cab. Everything's greased and ready to roll.

It better snow like a MoFo.

Sounds like a nice setup. I've learned a lot by searching/reading this forum, and I'm sure you will too. Good luck with your snow removal.
