Been looking at quick hitches. Called the usual suspects for prices.

Two Land Pride dealers quote around $463 + shipping for their quick hitch (QH-15). :confused2: No way I'm paying that for a quick hitch.

Soooo I called the Deere dealer for a quote on a Woods QH. He said he couldn't even find that they made a QH! :confused3: But... he said I have an IMatch hitch that's been sitting outside for a year and he wanted to move it. So he's pricing it at $250.00. Not too bad for green gold.

Soooo... what do you think about the deal? It's going on a Kubota L3830 so I'll be painting it anyway... Orange! I'll leave the Deere sticker on it though... :D

And no I'm not buying a Harbor Freight or TSC hitch. :smiley_aafz:

I'm attaching a couple pics so you can see it for yourselves. Thanks guys! :)

The price seems fair, I bought a used one in similar shape for $150. A new one is $300 although I got my first new one for $225 on a dealer day.

Wow you got a good deal on both of yours. Have you had any problems out of them? They appear to be made well.

You did good...they are trouble free and will outlast your tractor unless you paint it orange-then it will break faster:laughing: Of course just kidding:thumbsup:

LOL!!! Well JD green and Kubota Orange should theoretically make it twice as strong!

Thanks for the feedback! :D

Google, Worksaver Quick hitch, and look at the top hook adjustment, I seen one simular, (not the same) at the local kubota dealer, My experinces with quick hitches, tells me, the adjustable is the way to go, thats why JD puts that I match sticker on there hitches, and there 3 point tools, as long as they got that sticker,..there guranteed to match I think the one I looked at was, $ 225.00, and looked tough, if you google deercreeksales, and call dan he can tell you where he gets them, Eric

I paid $225 for my (new) Deere QH too about a year ago. So, I think I'd offer the Dealer about $175 and see how he responds...have the cash in your pocket.

I thought putting Green stuff on Orange things was illegal in most places!

Seriously, I traded my JD I-Match for a Land Pride Quick Hitch for the additional flexibility of the adjustable top link. Both are very well built, and work well. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a little bit of Green.

I'd leave it Green in case you do decide to trade it for something else, but I'd bet you'll like it well enough to keep. Especially at that price! I paid $300 for my I-Match.

Yeah the non adjustable top hook worries me some.

I have a carry all, woods grader blade, woods bush hog, KK tiller, KK box blade and 3 point hitch trailer mover. What's the chances of all those lining up right? :confused2:

Well the dealer called back... I just bought it for $223.00

I think that's a pretty good deal.

The speedco thing at TSC is $290! And not nearly as well made. The welds are awful!!!

Now that you have the IMatch with the fixed top hook let me say that it ain't quick if you have to adjust the top hook. Simply put make everything work for the IMatch which is 15" above the centerline of the lower pins. I change out implements frequently and have multiple IMatch's and everything works together flawlessly.

My thoughts exactly.

Papa, you can order bushing sets cheap here: QUICK HITCH ADAPTER KIT CAT 1-3

"Quick" is a relative term.
That QH will reduce the time and aggravation of hooking up any implement (assuming the implement is QH compatible or has been modified to be compatible).
As far as adjusting the top link...even with my iMatch Frontier mower, I have to lengthen or shorten the top link for mowing or transporting.

Since rigging a QH to the tractor's 3PH is a bit of work in itself, switching from one to another seems like it would be more work, not less. Or, am I reading your post (bolded sentence) wrong? Or, should you clarify what you wrote?

Yes I agree... what's the point of quick hitches if I have to move the top hook! :confused2:

So... if my stuff doesn't line up I will have to modify it. I just hope at least something lines up without cutting!

That's an awesome price! Have you ordered from this company?

I have not since I've not needed any, but I know others on this forum and on the John Deere forum that have.

That's what the Imatch cost's new. The bushings are a steal at that price.

What's the price for new? New price is around $330.00 for an IMatch. LandPride quick hitch is a whopping $463!

Roy,
Reread my post and notice I said "top hook" not top link.
What I meant is all the implements are setup for IMatch and the 4520, 820 and x749 all have an IMatch on them. Allows me to mix and match without issues. I have hydraulic topntilt for the 110 and 4520 currently and plan on adding the hydraulic top link to the 820 and x749 this fall when I get a breather.

I should correct this to say the 31B 3PH PHD and my boxblade BB1284 are not IMatch ready. I plan on reworking the boxblade this fall too.

Here it is!

The Green really clashes with my Orange!:D

Fits very well and looks like it's gonna work with all my implements... except the trailer mover. :licking:

The trailer mover is too wide at the bottom.... really strange. Will require major surgery to make it work... I may just sell it. I really like it though. :(

So the next step is to add mods to the QH like chain boxes and stuff... also a 2" receiver! Then it will go to paint... Kubota gray!

I've seen some nice mods on this site. Time to start collecting some pics!
