Selecting the tractor is part of the fun!
I completely understand about that JD experience turning you off. It would've me too. But,I'm glad it didnt happen to me as I would have missed out on a great tractor. Just remember, most tractors are gone over and set up after purchase....there are usually options added at that time,so the dealership waits to do final "make ready" then. What happened on the deere can happen on other brands as well. But either way....you cant go wrong with most brands today. Have fun and good luck!!!

I completely understand that it can happen to any make but it does make one worry.

I have not decided yet, but time will tell.

I can only imagine the opposite responses I would have had if this was posted in the Kubota buying/pricing section...

It seems I will be dropping the hammer on a L4400HST.

Thanks for everyone on the JD side for your opinions and information. It is great to find a worthwhile forum that offers good information and has nice people.

I find the same helpfulness on dodgetalk.com as well.

See you on the orange side!

Sweet lookin' machine! Congratulations! You're doing your part for the GLOBAL economy... (Which Deere is very much a BIG part of!)

Just for grins - like that big 'un you're wearin' - how did the price stack up against the JD machines you were considering?

It came out to be more than the 4005 and almost the same as the 4105. Maybe a $300 difference.

At the end of the day, I was more comfortable and happier on the orange tractor. I am convinced that either tractor will last a long time. Well, here's to hoping anyway!
