The points you made are all good ones, and I will sure consider them. I'm 64, and nearly 4 years ago they gave me perhaps a year to live with treatments......... I blew that away, but I really don't need a 20 year tractor probably. I sure have looked at them! M' Simplicity is the same size / weight, or very close to it so the smaller ones do feel small, and light to me. My neighbor has done a lot of my mowing for me with a smaller Cub Cadet when I haven't been feeliing so good, so I know that size will work. I do like the larger tires, and weight of the larger ones.

Well, I know the Air Ride seat will fit the X500 series, it costs $495.00 plus $135.00 for the kit to put it on. In your case, it would be very beneficial. Can I ask, are you or have you been on Methotrexate? I'm just guessing!

Chuck, I can't speak to the models you're looking at, however a quick comment about the HDAP tires. I had turfs on my X585 and now HDAPs on my X748. The HDAPs provide much better traction in my opinion and have not torn up the lawn at all (we've had a very wet summer, so I was quite concerned about them). Can't wait for the snow to try them out (actually, I can wait!).

Though it seems odd to some folks, I can't tell you what I have been on. We use one chemo therapy until it does't work, or my body gets tired of it, then we monitor the tumors until they are active again, and move on to the next chemo drugs. So far they have no way to "fix" it. Time is my friend though. I've been on 4 different treatments in the last 3 1/2 years. I don't worry too much about where the tumors are unless they restrict me, and taking a lesson from the wildlife I have watched, I try only to be sick when I am. Some days, of course, that works better than others. It is not much fun sometimes, but you can always see someone who is having a harder time.

Yes, I think I will try to negociate the HDAP tires into the deal what ever I get. The only downside I can see to them is strength for things like loader work. ( I have seen them mounted on 2305's, etc.)

Chuck,
One of the first things I noticed about the x749 is how soft the ride was with the hdap tires. No plans for a loader on something this small anyway.

Whether you go with the x5xx or x7xx tractors I would consider the air ride seat with your hip problems.

Thanks for the input Steve. I wondered when looking at the tread on the HDAP tires if they might ride softer, and I have no plans at all of installing a loader. I have one on my little B Kubota, and if anything would like a larger, stronger one.
