Just an update for those who warned me.... I lost more than a gallon of fluid and to make things worse I could not get the hydraulic filter off... Filter wrench would not fit because of the BH subframe. I had to finally puncture the old filter and use a screw driver to spin it off.... This whole project would have been much easier, less frustrating, and no where nearly as messy if I just drained the fluid in the first place. For all of those who will think of doing filter only-trust me: its not worth the hassle.

Sorry to hear it. The Japanese put things on TIGHT, and I'm saying that based on experience with tractors, cars, and motorcycles.

I had to go out and buy myself one of those impact drivers (you use a hammer, for any who might not be familiar) just to remove the two Phillips screws holding the points cover on my shiny 1965 Honda 250 Scrambler that I bought new ($16.49 a mo.) when I got my learner's permit that year. :)
