Goat fence for Kudzu Control

/ Goat fence for Kudzu Control #51
I am thankful that I don't have any kudzu near where I live, but there is some that is about 35 miles away and I hope it stays there. I have seen where it has taken over a whole mountain side choking out the trees, looks spooky and should be a concern for everyone. Something that I was wandering is for example a horse eats grass with seeds and then when they pass those seeds in the expelled grass will come up, wouldn't the same thing happen with the goats [I am not a goat expert] when they eat the kudzu and then pass it. I don't know very much about kudzu either other than it is aggressive at spreading. As fast as it spreads by itself I wouldn't want to get a broadcast spreader to try to control it.

Hey Toy,

No there has been no evidence that Kudzu is spread that way.

Hopefully there was little or no damage. I bet it was fun getting it back upright again.

Having passed the one month test for predator risk, I decided to increase my flock to 15 by adding
Three % kiko/boer; four high % kiko; and one kiko/fainting - all does.

25 acres in ~3 years with 8 goats sounds ambitious. Better hope those 6 does start kidding!

ac

Added eight does with one already pregnant - still, like you say I hope they start kidding.

How did you right that dozer? Failing another larger machine to hook to it, would an excavator or backhoe to dig away enough earth till it flopped back far enough to restart and back it out have saved the day?

They dug it out with another Dozer. Just happy no one was hurt.

Once I have my 21-acre jungle completely fenced I plan to get some goats. I'm enjoying your pictures
