Yanmar 1401d What is it worth

Hey guys. Tractor is for sale locally. 545 hours, great condition, everything works well. No bent metal, woods 48" finish mower made in 2000, I know the owner and he has owned it for the last 11 years. Stored in a garage. Paint good except for a couple of places on the hood where it has come off. What do you think???????? I might buy it if it is a good deal. I have too many toys but allways looking for a deal.

Have a look here for the tractor value. Used 4' finish mowers seem to be going for $400 - $600 around here lately.

Thanks for the replys. Allready can get it for $3000.00 might offer him $2,500 and see what happens. Do not really need another tractor and really want a small 135, 1300, 1100, 1110 size yanmar. THe owner has had thr tractor for about 10 years.

3000 is good. if you get it 2500 get it and run. you need a loader $1800 i do a lot of 1401 loaders

So, my question is that this 1401D is your first yanmar or you have more since you said "another 135d or 1110d"? I love my Yanmar, i wish i had another, but bigger. :laughing::thumbsup:

I had a 135 with the ym45 mmm. Great little tractor but was only 2wd. Purchased it for $1,600 and sold it the first day sitting in front of my house [i live on main street in a small town} for $2,500. I would have kept it but want a 4wd. The 1401 is just a little bigger than what I neeed/want but Ill play with it and have fun. I presently have a satoh beaver 4wd with a just purchased blackhawk fel. I love these little tractors. I dont know why anyone would go to lowes and spend $2,500 for a piece of crap when you can have a real quality tractor. I have relatives and I know that if Ido not keep the yanmar It will get a home somewhere. Here is a photo of the Beaver and the 135 I sold last summer. I paid $1,500 for the beaver with the dozer blade and a 54" mmm underneath. As I said, just picked up the fel for it so I can not wait to lay down some mulch etc. Great sellling point for the wife.

The danger in getting that 1401D will be that you won't want to get rid of it. At first I thought the 1401D might be a bit much for my needs, but now I never want to let it go. I got it in July last year and have found it so handy with what I needed done around here in my tiny 1 acre yard that I have put 100 hours on it already.

Yanmar1401downer. What do you have for a fel and how do you like it. I see you have the wheel and tire package from Hoye tractor. How do you like that also.

It has the Vtek V1 loader. I have learned since I bought the tractor that it must be a VN refurb because of the loader, but I'm hoping I'm among the lucky ones that got a decent VN. It has performed flawlessly for the 100 hours I've put on it so far.

The turf package made the steering extra difficult especially when I'm in 4WD with a load in the bucket, but it has gotten somewhat better as I wear the "new" off the front tires and I over-inflate them some. The turf tires are much kinder to the lawn and the extra width has greatly improved stability.

I tried to get the power steering kit from Hoye, but they are no longer selling it for the 1401 because of the shorter distance on the steering arm. If they ever adapt a kit for the 1401, I'll be among the first in line to get one.

The Vietnam refurbs look almost new. They basically go through the whole tractor and "restore" it. Sometimes they do a great job and sometimes the tractor ends up being a piece of garbage. They typically set the hour meter back to zero so say that you found a YM2000 with 50 hours, it is probably a vietnam refurb.

That little 135 you had was really nice! I can see how 2wd wasn't your favorite, I couldnt hardly use my YM169D if it was 2wd. Even grading gravel in the driveway last night i had to use 4wd since the back tires just kept getting buried. It makes a world of a difference. Your Beaver tractor looks to be in very good shape, would be cool if you could get a picture of it next to that 1401D. :thumbsup:

And, according to Aaron at Hoye, only the VN refurbs come with the Vtek loaders

They sometimes come with bulldog loaders. My VN refurb hour meter had over 2000 hours on it so they don't always have hour meters run back.
