I am very familiar with the 8Ns and Ford Jubilees. A 3400 is much more productive and user friendly, except the 3 point hitch. Kubota does not seem to feel the hitch should raise smoothly like the 60 year old Ford hitches.

Talking about older iron and the ability to repair, our 2 D-17's are sleeved gas engines built in the 60's. Very easy to rebuild. My 1720 is parent bore and would require a re-bore to re-build. However, I doubt that I will put 4500 hours on my 1720. That's what both D-17's have. They still run and could use a re-build but that Power Crater engine is sure one tough bugger.

For the small truck farmers, tobacco plot keepers or the onion growers, it was the small tractor that enabled us to do what had almost never been done before. After WWII, the Masseys and Farmalls were a godsend. Many of them, to the day, are still sought after. Putt-putt slowly, wide set front, lighter weight to prevent compaction, cultivate by looking down at your feet. Priceless.

I'm partial, but my vote goes to the Massey Pony and Farmall Cubs and A.

is that the quarter inching valve I have heard about?

I also heard some models could be upgraded to REAL position control..
