ROPS for a YM 276D

I couldn't find a ROPS over at Hoye's. Anyone know if there is a OSHA approved ROPS for the above tractors?

To my knowledge, the YM 276 is the same as the YM2010. i think i found you some ROPS. Group 6. Ask for sure but this should be it. price is $619. Hope this helped. :thumbsup:

Did you ask them? There are several models that are not on their group listing, but I would bet there is a ROPS for them.

on another note. I am surprised Yanmar doesn't have a ROPS purchase program for thier domestic tractors like Kubota and Deere

Yanmars current "made for US" tractors have ROPS; however, when they previously sold tractors in the US, ROPS were not required.

My 276D has a ROPS. Maybe it was an option.

I know Deere and kubota have a rops program for their older non mandated rops tractors. Just surprised that with all of the legal issues that yanmar doesn't have a program for folks with older domestic tractors looking to add some safety

Prolly cause of the grey issue, which they wont touch with a 10 ft pole. It would be to hard to make sure that they are not suppling parts for greys in this, whick they already do not do as a company.

Pardon reviving an old thread. I just spoke with the folks at Hoye and the representative stated the Group 6 ROPS will NOT work with the YM276 or YM276D because that model has a "unique rear end." I found one ROPS online from justtractorparts.com that says it works with the YM276 variants, but it also says it works with "F" series Yanmar Tractors....FX16, F165, F18, FX18, FX24.

I wouldn't take what we said as 100% will not fit. I told Jacob (the parts guy you were talking to) that 'I didn't think it would fit because I think there might be something unique with that rear axle'. I know the axle housing part numbers are not the same so there is something different there- I just don't know what exactly. Those ROPS are super expensive to ship and I don't want to take chances or make guesses. The ROPS in your link looks like it only attaches to the PTO plate so that would probably fit just fine as those appear to be the same.

Aaron, thanks for the input. She who must be obeyed wants a ROPS on the tractor in case it flips on me when on the hills.

ROPS is always a good option especially if you have hilly terrain, and its a good idea to keep the boss happy :tractor:

It appears to be a stock photo they use for all the ROPS for every Yanmar and Kubota model.

Could you make a cardboard template representing your bolt pattern, and mail it to them for comparison?

Also - is that ROPS intended for models as large as your 276? It seems lighter than the YM2000/YM240 ROPS.

Note this ROPS bears downward force on plates that cover the top of the axle, instead of only on the PTO bolts.

Give Fredricks Imports a call. There are many ROPs sizes they offer. AND, these are the really nice ones that are foldable. Custom Products is the manufacture here in the USA. They make them OE for many of the brands today.

The ROPS sold online does NOT fit the YM276D. Apparently the YM276D has different rear axle as Aaron suggested. That said, a neighbor fabricated a bottom component to bolt to the bolts holding on the fenders. He found someone with a Yanmar with a ROPS and measured the height above the seat. He also measured the height of the YM147 ROPS in the garage. The ROPS look high, but it seems to be the correct height.

We flipped the wheels so the wheels are at the widest possible setting on the hills as recommended.
