Just wondering why are you a fan of your brand tractor. Is it because of color (for those who bleed green lol), is it the brand your dad or grand dad owned or just because thats what others in your area use. I myself like the MF. I have owned alot of differant brand like Ford (not NH) case, long and jd. For some reason the MF just stuck with me, I like the over all preformance it gives me. Now im not knocking the other brands because they were also good tractors i even still have my long.

P.S. this is not intended to bash other brands just to discuss your fav brand.

My Power Trac PT425 does the jobs I need it to do.
It is made in the USA by a US company.
There are no plastic parts.
Everything is made from flat plate steel.
Tough as a tank.
If something breaks, I can get parts from the factory overnight (except weekends).
It is crazy simple to work on.
All hydraulic implements.
No PTO shafts or 3PT hitch to mess with.
All attachments are on the front where I can see them. No neck strain.
I can change an un-powered implement in 15 seconds without getting off the tractor because it has an outstanding quick attach feature. Powered implements take about 30 seconds longer because I have to connect the hydraulic hoses.
The tractor is hydraulically articulated and is full time all wheel drive.
It also oscillates +- 12 degrees between the front and rear sections.
This means all 4 tires are on the ground more of the time on uneven terrain.
It will not tear up the grass even turning the steering wheel lock to lock while standing still.
Extremely low center of gravity.
Easy to modify and repair.
It is a dream for anyone that likes to tinker with machinery.
I've owned it for 10 years and would purchase another.

When I started looking location, and reputation of the dealer was what was important to me, color did not enter the picture. I have two Kubota dealers with 30 min of me and 1 within 50 min. At the time I was looking one of the Kubota dealers was also a John Deer dealer and the other two were New Holland dealers. I also had two exclusive New Holland dealers within 30 and 45 min from me. At the time I bought it was between New Holland and Kubota and the only reason I did not buy the New Holland was I did not feel comfortable in the seat, it just did not fit me.

I made the right decision for me. Also within a couple of years after I bought the Deer dealership was no more and two of the New Holland dealers closed out that line. So now I have mostly Kubota dealers close. However since I bought we have had a Massy and Kioti dealer open and has been in business for several years now.

I have only one New Holland/Kubota dealer but he is 50 min away and no John Deer dealers close. I do plan on buying another tractor in a few years and as of now it will be between Massy and Kubota.

1) Because the price was right at the time.
2) JD Does not offer R1 tires on the SCUT 2305.
2a) I knew the only good JD dealer was being shut down by JD.
3) The NH Dealer thinks there product is gold plated.

Bobcat dealer: Lets not go there on a public forum.

Mahindra, Branson, Montana, Kioti, no dealers in the area that I know of.

Hmm, hard to remember. I kept Sears lawn tractor running on our property for 3 difficult years and when we had to refinance the second mortgage leg, I wanted a real tractor.
I have seen Kubota's 7100 and such by the road for sale sometimes and I liked the size and the ruggedness compare to that poor busted Sears. I tried friend's zero turn and didn't like it much; it felt like a spine killer. Asked around, JD had some offers as far as financing of a new tractor, but Kubota - Byrd of Manassas - had a used one with 60"MMM. The MMM was the sale point for me and still is the most used implement.
Before the purchase, I did some research and it is hard to find negative opinions about Kubota - hence I am orange:D - but 2005 I was ready to go any which way, the price was the deciding factor.

Prior experience with my first JD (318) proved to me it was an overengineered, tough, reliable tractor. Prior experience with the selling dealer told me they were honest, fair, cared about customer satisfaction, and I knew I could always get parts and service. Indeed, the selling dealer of my first JD closed ten years after I got my tractor (lost franchise) but I followed one of the owners to my current dealership and purchased from him there. (4210) Any time I buy a product that gives me the reliability and performance my two Deeres have, I'd buy them again if they were sky blue pink.

But, of course...everybody knows GREEN RULES in the tractor world.

You are darn tootin' the dealership means a lot when I spend serious bucks...could have purchased an NH TC-30 comparably equipped for 2 grand less than my second JD was, yet dealership didn't look well cared for, and I wasn't impressed with their parts and service operation while visiting. Guess a lot of other buyers felt the same way as they folded three years after I purchased my tractor. Glad I stuck with my instincts.

Dealer is number one with me as well. I don't believe there is a nickel's worth of difference in the top 5 OEMs, really, but, we simply don't have the vast array of dealerships, offering all these various colors up here. That is somewhat limiting as well.

Although my dealer does sell CC/ Yanmar as well as Kubota, but I just couldn't adjust to some of the features and the color puts me off a bit. Silly, I know.

I like my tractor a lot. Liked my last one a lot too. I never fell to the Orange-vs-Blue-vs-Green-vs-other orange-vs.....

I got both used; they were the best tool for the job available on the used market.

FWIW, I use my local independant dealer/repair shop for most stuff. For my old Kubota, and this New Holland, the dealers are a long drive.

The dealer had a big part in my decision. I have deere, kubota and cub dealers near my house and I purchased from a Massey dealer that is almost an hour away. My family has always owned green but the nearest dealer doesn't have the greatest reputation for service after the sale (they also sell orange). I deal a lot with the cub dealer for all of my Stihl equipment and they offer great service but I don't love the cub machines. I also think the Massey was the best machine (for me) in the SCUT category. I am not sure if I would have gone red if I went up in size. Their CUT's seem a little heavy for my needs, although there is a small part of me that wishes I waited to see the new 1526. I can always trade up...

Price mainly,i buy them cheap, color don't matter but green is usually out of the picture cause of price.
I never paid more than 5 grand for a tractor,i've picked them up for as little as $400.
One can buy 3 red for one green(same hrs or less)
I repair myself so a close dealer is not important to me,i never bought equipment from them anyway.

My wife found my tractor (my first) while searching Craigslist. I had never even heard of the brand so I Googled it and found this site. After reading about the Kioti CK 20 here and other places and looking at the price it sounded lke a good little tractor and was a good deal so I bought it.
Now that I have had it a while I am very pleased with it and have recommended Kiotis to others.
When / if I buy another tractor I will buy whatever is a good deal as long as it is a good quality tractor.
As far as dealers go, I do pretty much all of my own work but I did get lucky and find a very good Kioti dealer not far away.

i am partial between two, Deere and yanmar.

Why i like Deere;
Deere offers parts 6 days a week and can get them shipped within days.
Deere makes a good reliable product with few problems to note.
I originally learned how to drive tractors on a Deere 2210 and my Dad's 3720
Our local Deere dealer is very customer friendly

Why I like Yanmar;
My first tractor was a Yanmar 169dparts are pretty easy to get depending on what it is
They have very reliable engines
They have excellent trannys on them
Local Yanmar dealer is a good friend of mine
Pretty much indestructable little tractors

For a favorite color of tractor, I really like the red ones, but same with the green ones.

My father bought a JD GP tractor when I was about 7 years old Steel wheels and hand clutch Flywheel start 2 Horz. Cylinders about size of gallon cans. learned to mow hay, rake and this was before pull behind bailers so pulled trailers to buck the hay into stacks . Then in the spring pulled double botton plows. start on gas then switch to tractor fuel. On a calm day with engine idleing it would blow smoke rings one after each other.
My first tractor was a $300 JD "B" then a "40" JD T Then Dad bought a H Farmall Would cultivate 4 rows . These tractor had unknown hours and no major repairs. Bought a Kubota
what a lesson. 1800 hours and everything except the transmission had been repaired.
Needed a tractor so again looked at JD and knew most everyone in dealer ship. they had been there for years I am a Happy J.D. tractor fan 18 months and over 700 hours and very little problems other than hydrolic hoses.

We inherited my wife's family farm last spring. The property hadn't had a working tractor on it for close to 30 years by this time and it was starting th show. The woods were taking over the pastures, the gravel drive had deep ruts, most of the trails were terribly overgrown. Something had to be done.

There is a lot just out of town where a guy sells used boats every summer, and the occasional odd tractor or mower shows up on occasion. Last spring, there were four tractors sitting there vying for my money. A Ford 1210, a Ford 1510, a smaller Massey garden tractor w/ snowblower, and a Kubota; I forget which model, but it was about 16-18 hp. The 1510 was the largest offering on the lot, which was important, as it was the smallest size I felt would handle my needs; plus it came with a FEL, (as did the 'Bota) a rear blade, and the real bonus: a winter cab! As much as I liked the little Kubota, it was just too small, and the Ford came with more accessories. I gave it a test drive and bought it the next day.

The nearest dealer just happens to be blue, so that's a bonus if I ever need service. Handy, but it was not the deciding factor. I liked the size, the condition of the body (the seller had taken the time to repaint the hood, the fenders and the loader arms.) the fact that there were no oil stains underneath it, and the package deal. I even liked the turf tires, as I knew I'd be doing lots of yard work with it.

It has been a good little tractor and has treated me well throughout my first year of operation. It's solid, all steel, very low hours for the age, (340 hrs. It's a 1985 model) and does everything I ask of it. Does that make me a blue fan? I don't know. I'd definitely look at other brands in the future, but for now, I'm a fan of this particular blue tractor.

Joe
