For me, the best part is the problem solving that comes about.
Same problem, but a multitude of ideas to resolve them.
Like the cliche says, there's more'n one way to seperate a cat from it's fur coat.:laughing::laughing:

I had to block my cat's eyes from that last line.

Well...I think birds of a feather flock together.

In general I would say the TBN group is fairly conservative, middle of the road do-it-yourselfers, about middle age, and have a pretty good profession or business of some sort. Probably do not speed much while driving and like critters.

What's NOT to like? You don't get flamed for asking a basic question and the depth of knowledge is beyond most other forums. I would imagine if I wanted to do surgery on myself one of you guys would tell me how to do it. Somehow, that relates to the do-it-yourself attitude about learning. Being self-reliant. And it all started out from rural living and tractors.

I do get a hoot out of some of the wild ones with the humor. But, they wind up getting themselves kicked off the forums sooner or later for saying something off color and don't last too long. That's too bad! We can't be serious all the time. I for one have missed them.

I don't have any of you guys on my ignore list. However, I do have most of the people I work with on my ignore list, (and a couple other lists), too. Why can't people in the real world be more like here?

You're profiling me, aren't you?

Yeah, he got me, too. I would speed but my 'Bota tops out at 16.

With questions you will get a mititulde of answers them some right some wrong and some in between but in the process you do get an education an have to develop you own plan.
you might also get a different perspective that you hadn't though about.

As my dad use to say two heads are always better than one even if one is empty.

Yes, Eddie said it best!

...As usual.

I like this site. I have gained a lot of knowledge. I've gained a lot of courage too. I've said it before, but I'm more willing to dive into a new project knowing that help is available if I need it.

I've often considered myself to be the Kevin O'Conner (from This Old House) of TBN. I'm the naive new kid that asks all the questions so that others can answer them and elighten the viewing public. Lucky for me there are a lot of Norm's and Tommy's out there to fill in the blanks of what I don't know.

Right on with Eddie and Iplayfarmer....this site has been a wealth of info for me over the years. I'm afraid I've gleaned a whole lot more than I've ever contributed but no one seems to mind.
Redbug -- when I joined your outfit it took me just 3 weeks to discover that even though it seemed no one was in charge, in fact there were folks in charge BUT just no one that would make a decision. (in 3 regions) I got the last laugh. After 18 years I was finally able to leave and they're still paying me! Unfortunately I left without ever changing my initial opinion.

I try to provide useful information and feedback to others when I can, and although one easily could, I never embellish the scope of my credentials and experience. Something about belonging to TBN seems to inspire honesty...I have been away from this forum for 4 1/2 years prior to this week, and I want to kick myself for being away so long, no takers, please...

To me, what comes to mind about the majority of the TBN personalities is "We don't know it all, but we DO know a lot, so just ask". What impresses me most of all here is that folks don't put on airs, nor shoot the BS, instead, they give you the straight s---, and one really cannot expect more than that. THANKS TO ALL.

Wow... surprised at the number of responses... lots of very good comments. I never meant to imply that I don't value the comments and opinions of ALL the posters on this site. My original statement was that the "opinionated know-it-all" made me chuckle... I never said they made me mad!! Oh, and for the record I have never used the "ignore" function... not to say I might not in the future. I agree with the consensus that this forum is a great community of great people... friendly, courteous, and always willing to help. I have gotten immeasurable good advice here, and along with Eddie I agree I have saved a great deal of money by using the knowledge I have gained. I hope in some small way my posts and responses have been beneficial to everyone else.

My only concern in the responses to this thread, is the idea that it may make some folks not post as often as they have in the past... if I thought that was true I'd want this post deleted immediately...that was never my intent.

Anyway... of the almost 91,000 registered users on this forum, only a handful fit my "opinionated know-it-all" category... that's a pretty positive stat.

"Post on" everyone... and thanks!!!
