Dirt Pile vs. 4120

Was going to do a little filling in some low spots in the yard today. It was a little warmer than it had been and sunny. Placed the tractor in 4WD, lowered/leveled bucket and proceeded into the pile. The tractor comes to a dead stop, then front end raises a little. Tried again, Oops! Frozen dirt pile! The dirt won today, but there's always tomorrow LOL.

hose frozen dirt piles are sure hard to dig into. Where did you attempt to scoop? At ground level? half way up? Having a slight tilt to the bucket and going in about at ground level will pry your bucket in and you can loosen up the soil. Its worth a good try.

Yep its that time of year weather station saying warming up for you folks down there,but mother nature decides to thaw or not to thaw.

I attempted about as you note ground level/slight tilt on bucket. It just wanted to push bucket up the side of the pile. A toothbar would probably make a big difference. If I attempt again soon, swapping out to the pallet forks to loosen things up a bit might help to start?
