1983 6100 stuck in reverse.

I just obtained a 1983 6100DT and it is stuck in reverse. The shifter moves into all gears but if I try to start the tractor it still jumps backwards. Clutch is depressed while doing so.

Maybe clutch is out? but then it would not turn over like it does.

Maybe its just a POS? I hope not. I could really use this tractor.

Does it move backwards as you spin the starter with the clutch depressed?

It jumps in neutral too? Sounds like the clutch is not disengaging at the least. Could be just stuck from sitting. There are posts on how people got them unstuck. On mine, the pressure plate had a piece that broke which made for similar results but I could shift it. You may have issues inside which lead to the tractor sitting and a stuck clutch.

Does it start at all and did it start before you bought it?

As I found out today the tractor is not a 6100DT, but in fact a B7001 (or gray market 7100) even though mine doesn't have the Z in front so still doing the research for that.

I have checked the clutch and I believe that the clutch is not disengaging. I have been trying to find a manual for the levers since nothing is marked.

By the way I got the tractor for free so if it is a POS I really can't complain too much!

Any advice for where to go from here would be appreciated! I will be searching for the manual for this tractor.

To update funwithahoe: The tractor ran about 2 weeks ago when a friend of a friend got it stuck in reverse and couldnt get it out, so he decided to run backwards into his driveway from the side and kill the engine. That's where I am starting from. Thanks to everyone for any help!!
