Well I know there has been a lot of snowblower talk going on with winter fast approaching. I bought a 59 for my 3320 about two weeks ago from a dealer about two and a half hours from me. He said it was a 08 that was removed from a 3320 that the owner just had to have his loader on so he brought it back, didn't even wear the paint out of the shute. He assured me everything was there to mount and operate it on my 3320. When I picked it up I knew the front hitch was not the correct one that I have seen for a 3x20 and again he assured me it was. I looked this hitch up on JD parts and the only model I could find it under was the 4000 series. The water was starting to boil. However when I went out to see if it would work out it did, no modifications. I did have to remove the brush guard for clearance to lift. I also had to remove the lift arms for my 72D MMM. It was fairly simple and I can switch back and forth from blower to loader. It doesn't take any longer to hook up than anything else on this tractor. I will have to remove that hitch to go back to the MMM in the spring but all the more wrenching it took to do the swap was easily worth it. I attached a few pics so you can see it, they were from my phone so I hope you can see them. Like I said the only place I could find the hitch that came with it was for the 4000 series. Maybe it was for the 3X20 also I don't know but it worked. The driveshafts came with it also. I just thought this might be some good information for 3x20 owners to know if you come across a used one with a different hitch. I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi,
What I think you have is the old attach system before the present front 'A' frame 3PH. It will work fine and if the price was right you did OK. The new system with the 'A'frame runs about $5600.00 (figure about 5k out the door).

Is your impeller plastic? I just got the 59 inch blower and mine is steel but I did hear talk that at one time they were plastic.

I didn't know when they switched to the front three point. In a couple days searching the three point system was all I could find for the 3x20. But I have only owned a compact since this April. It does fit fine and lifts plenty high enough and it was only three bolts per side to install and when I remove it there is nothing left like the 3 point set up. It was all supposed to be off of an 08.

My impeller is metal. I did ask him about that and he said the plastic ones were on the 47" blower. He said he has one himself and it has been fine.

I can't wait to see this thing in action. I have been doing it with the GT275 and single stage blower for years.

Something looks wrong on it, better sell it to me cheap to put on my 4400!

Hi Skid-Kid,

I think Rob D is right in that your mount looks like the one previous to the current 3pt A-frame mount that we have.

One difference I see is that the A-frame mount keeps the blower level like a 3pt when raised. We have been advised by the JD tech not to remove our brushguard as it limits the maximum driveshaft angle when fully raised.

The only failure we have had is a worn chute rotator cable which can be fabricated by any tractor supply.

The auger worm gear is bronze, check gear box oil levels and do not use stronger than the recommended grade 5 shear bolts.

The surrounding hills are white this morning, time to get the loader off and blower mounted.

Hi,
We've had cable failures too. There's a trick, what usually happens is they corrode so we grease the heck out of them which seems to help a little, especially with all the salt that gets put on the roads here that we pick up when we clean snow at our driveway outlet.

i am looking at a 59" blower that came off of a 3000. i have a 4300. so i sort of have the same question as skid-kid....are the mounts the same? he said it fits 3120, 3320, 3520 and 3720.

here is a picture of the pieces.

Defed,
It's hard to tell from that photo. What you should do is go to Deere's site and check out the mounting system and parts for the blower on your tractor.(you can check JD parts or possibly do a "build your own" and check to see if the parts for both are the same) Most likely the width of the two tractors is not the same. The picture you're showing looks like there are 'A' frame parts in it and that's the newer mounting system but I don't see all the parts there.
