Do you have quirks in your life? If it is the right word; I mean like a lock that needs special push or pull to open?

This morning I realized the lever for my left turn signal in my jeep returns well when it is cold. When the temperature gets above 70, it does not return at all.

Means in real life I turn left and comment: "Boy, it is chilly today"

Some people blame it on gremlins, I think the spring just needs to be replaced but it is very far down on my list.

Prokop ---I 've got a few that bug me but are insignificant enough to not make it to the top of my honey do list...I would bet everyone has those quirks. Have you ever noticed just as you thought you had caught up on all repairs ...something else breaks....

Not only that, Bob, but major appliances can sniff money in the bank. When I think I am getting better off, something major brakes:(

We have a gate in our fence. When it is humid, the post with the latch on it leans away from the gate and we cannot latch the fence, so we adjust the latch bar out to engage the latch. Then when it is dry, the post leans towards the gate and we cannot open it and have to slide the latch bar back a half an inch. It has been like this for 12 years. It is a quirk of our house. :)

Thats why those quirks should never be fixed, because if it is fixed and the gremlins will find out you may have a worst quirk to worry about.

Prokop, It is so funny you said that...that has been a long standing joke between my son and me. He just received a nice sum of money and I jokingly said..." Look out now..folks are going to know you have money and something will break or they will be after a chunk of it " He immediately said..." don't say that you have put the hex on me " He called me yesterday and said his Termite contract had expired after 7 yrs. and now he has to pay to have it renewed and his golf cart broke and they can't find the parts....He blames me for bringing on bad Mo Jo...LOL

Remember the juke box on Happy Days that Fonzie had to hit just in the right place to make it work? Sometimes quirks and knowing how to get around them will make you look cool.

Part of my home does not have a basement under it, just a crawl space and the floor in the room over that area of the house sqeeks some in the winter and stops completely in the spring and summer and fall. Gets on my wifes nerves more than mine. Ken Sweet

I have a florescent light that won't turn on when it's really hot. And a garage radio whose tuning drifts with the temperature.
But I have fixes. For instance I don't bad mouth, or praise my car where it can hear me.

In the summe rmy garage door takes forever to slide up but in the winter it glides right up no problem.

Sears pressure washer with a 3.8 HP B&S engine - won't start unless you keep the trigger on the wand squeezed open while pulling the starter cord. Didn't used to do it.

The cloth washer stops every time during rinsing. To restart the process, all you need to do is press on the lid on the right side - there is a switch underneath - and the process resumes.

Have a rental Nissan Altima for a few days while the company car is in the shop...talk about a car with quirks:eek:
First- the cruise control buttons are on the horn part of the steering wheel...press a little too hard and you blow the horn, makes for some puzzled looks from other drivers.
And the remote- why can't they leave a car alone, this car has no keys. There is a button on the dash to start the car when the remote is in range of the car. Yesterday I came out of a store and accidently dropped the remote in the parking lot after using it to open the doors...so what if I didn't notice I'd dropped it and it was in range to start to the car allowing me drive off without it? Apparently this remote 2 way communicates with the car and I found it still works to start the car within about 5 to 10 feet of the car.
Then I got in the car once and layed the remote on the console, not thinking about it since it didn't have a key attached to insert in the car. You guessed it, later I got out and locked the remote in the car, since I was out of my usual habit of taking the key out and slipping it in my pocket. Turns out only the drivers door was locked and I found I could open a passenger door, which at the time I was on the phone with the rental company, who was insisting on the rental agreement number...which of course the rental agreement was locked in the car:thumbsup:
I also found you can't open the trunk with the remote while the car is running, say at a quick pullover to get something out of the trunk. Took me awhile to find the unmarked switch on the lower left of the dash to open the trunk. This also means since the only way to get in the car or trunk is electrically operated, there may be a key but the rental company didn't give it to me, a dead battery in the remote or car means, you aren't getting in. And if you did get in there is no getting in the trunk to get jumper cables if you had them, since the release is electrical...
:confused2:

My dad has a Dodge Grand Caravan over 10 years old. Sometimes when the vehicle hits a bump, particularly on a left hand turn, the windshield wipers turn on automatically and have to be turned off again. Been doing it for years. I'd fix if I knew how, just don't know how.

I live with my quirks, i mean wife.
If you have ever driven a 2000 chevy malibu, you would know the defination of quirk.
gas gauge works fine until you hit 1/4 tank, then it stops. sometimes the seat belt just releases, sometimes my anti-theft light goes on and you have to wait 10 mins to restart it, sometimes the heat works, sometimes the air workes, sometimes you hear strange noises. its crazy, then again chevy has made fun of it in its new adds for the redesigned malibu....On top of that we have the gates that get stuck sometimes, the light switch to noware, not sure what it turns on its just there.

They also know when you are working out of town for more than 3 days. Another thing they know is that when you buy a new one, one of the others will fail.

The walkout basement door leaks cold air into the house during the winter.
