After all this time, today I found the problem with backhoe controls! If 2 years ago I could have seen how they were put together (Dealer's didn't even know!) inside, problem would have been solved then!!!

So I take it someone put it together wrong and it has been repaired numerous times and installed wrong? So it was not a design problem or even Mahindra's problem, yet they got blamed for it?:confused2:

Yes that is the typical problem Iv seen with mine. Noone, factory or dealer, takes your problem seriously enuf to do whats necessary to solve it. If youll only go away they wont have to. Dealer & mfg dont work well together in my experience. If you continue squeaking long and often enuf they finally start to cooperate -- a little.

In my case I found a good and upfront tech rep who helped me all along with DIY info .. and then just start pulling all the strings himself after 2yrs.

Larry,
I am sad to say my dealer (at least the new parts counter help) has gone this way.:ashamed: The other day I was asking about front bumper weights. I was told Mahindra didn't make them anymore for my tractor and I would have to get them somewhere else. I told him do not ever tell a customer, off the cuff, something can not be acquired. This is the second time the young wipper snappers told me basically to go elsewhere. I called the salesman (the owner's son) and he had the answer the next morning.;) No wonder I followed the old staffers that left to open a new place to buy Stihl and Hustler parts.
When I tell someone have a nice day and they say they will try,
I tell them not to try, but to just do it.

S78wingrider,
Your post #21 lead me to believe it was assembled wrong. What, exactly, did you have to do to fix it?
hugs, Brandi

I needed to do something and took the stick- bucket control out first, decided to clean it and see if anything could be done. In cleaning pan I found piece of keeper I had never seen before or a place for one? After finding out where they go, even though grove is barely visible, I realized these must have come off early on and probably caused all the problems, I hope. I then drilled hole for smallest carter key I could find (only got half it trough hole) in pin that goes in platic rod end that was always breaking (hope this was the cause of that). Keeper had been on pin on outside of where it is mounted, keeps it from sliding back and forth. If I could have seen a break down of it 2 years ago????? Why not, for what it cost I should have had excess to that info!

I can hardly believe that they do not have front weights any more. The tractor works awesome with them and the FEL is off. I would think that they would be a big seller over in India where FELs are not that common. Please let us know if this is true or not. In fact I may call Dave and check on this myself.

Here's some pictures of mine, but I modified it a little.

Brian,
The salesman did say I can get it all from an outfit in S.C. The photo of 8 weights in my ops manual is way different than yours pictured. Yours has a lot more than 8 weights. The salesman said (if I heard him right) I could buy 96 pound weights for around $96 each with a $3.95 bolt kit for each weight and it could carry 9 weights. But I get free shipping for $900 in weights. I will just keep the loader on for that $$$. Once I trade up in trailers I will load the tires.

Brandi, I made the bracket that will hold 16 Mahindra weights sideways. I got the original 8 front weights with the tractor. Back then the front bumper and rear wheel weights came with the tractor at no additional cost. Now I had to scream and yell to get them, but I did indeed get a complete set of tractor weights for no additional charge. I should have yelled about the locking gas cap and the horn too. Back then all that stuff was supposed to be included with the purchase of the tractor. I actually think that the only OEM tractor option there was when the 7520's first came out was the 3rd rear remote. seems like the next year is when they started making the accessories optional items.

Anyway, I figured that the 8 front weights worked so good that it would be even better with 16. I was able to purchase a second set of weights in the crate from Dave at Dave's tractor. Messed up when I made the bracket though and it is really tough to get 8 weights on each side, so to keep it simple I just use 7.

The price you got at a dollar a pound is not a bad price, cast iron is expensive. 900 pounds would be a lot of weight up front, I know that the Mahindra weights do not weigh that much. When you load your tires, you won't believe the difference that it makes.

You don't take your hoe off very often do you? Are you going to start doing work for others?

Just wondering :confused3:
