Still deciding on size, looking at L series

I sure wish it was that simple. You are going to have to consider both HP and weight of your tractor with weight, cutting width and capacity of your cutter with what you intend to cut.

I run a 6' hog behind my 31.5 pto hp L3940. Works well for me. Philip.

It is not just the PTO HP, it is the weight of the tractor. I would want a much heavier tractor with a 72" brush hog. While some might run a 72" on a tractor the size of an L, it really limits maneuvering capability and the implement will sometimes drive the tractor. Ask your local dealer, he will probably tell you the same thing.

I might be thinking and therfore would be spending too big for my needs, mainly cutting grass and bush hogging, I should probaly stay with a large B and a 5' hog, would a 2630 be ok for 5' bush hog?

There are quite a few B owners on here including the B2630 and hopefully they can help you with this, anything I could say would only be speculation and would sure hate to steer you wrong, good luck.

My 2010 L3400 has 1 extra horsepower than the manual shows, according to the Kubota color brochure. it has a little decal "extra power".

Look at the specs.... (Univ of GA? )


You're now talking 19 PTO HP to turn a 60" machine. You are proportionally going in the same direction.

Since you ask again, it's still no in my opinion.
